I'm surprisingly blown away by this myself and in a very positive way.
I'm not usually one for anything that sounds anywhere near this 'pop' orientated and it feels somewhat odd listening to it in a way due to this. To have something this bright coming out of my speakers is a little strange and may take a bit of getting used to actually! Anyone else feel this on first listen?
I say 'pop' here in a very kind of 2010 chart pop music shite kind of way though...and this is deffo not that. Maybe its just making me think of modern day 'pop' music and what that actually is or tries to be. Hmmmm
I love the instrumentation on this and the random mix of all sorts of genres..am I hearing some dub beats at the start of the album and I keep thinking James Brown and MJ for some reason. Its pretty smooth!
So what are your thoughts on this and her interpretation of a 2010 soul/pop/R&B album?
