For me it's this:
I listened to the Muse album about 345 times in a row when it came out though. Still can't work out what the hell is going on.
How, pray, have you any brain-cells remaining?
I've spent most of that time going 'Wha..?' as well. My face hurt for most of the earlly summer.
From the album Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free.
It's only a short tune so it almost needs to be played twice...
It's the feel-good hit of the summer for me. I have been known to play it many times in succession.
Seriously - listen to it: http://downloads.pitchforkmedia.com/Japandroids-Younger_Us.mp3
I can almost feel the sunburn.
the Rockin' Ramrods original. I love the Ariel Pink version but it made me go and check this out and good lord if I can't seem to get enough of it. I have it going around my head even when I'm not playing it.
mine was just earlier today, I played White Ring 'Roses' 3, count 'em THREE times over:
...so screechy Knife-but-noisier electro is hot and happening, right?
I listened to this about fifteen times in a row last night. It's fucking heavenly - the last minute has to be heard to be believed
what a track
I have a childish love of the first 30 seconds.
definately, but that was yesterday.
black lips - before you judge me
Hefner - The Day That Thatcher Dies
It reminds me of Oasis but I love it dearly.
geographer - kites
play and repeat ad infinitum
Feel It All Around by Washed Out
Run to Your Grave by The Mae Shi
on all afternoon.
that track is amazing.
so there have a been few bouts of Born to Run / Philadelphia / Dancing in the Dark.
From "Journey to the West" by Damon Albarn.
SO excited for the Aeroplane album.
Mine was probably First Be A Woman by Leonnore O'Malley after listening to the latest Horse Meat Disco album last night:
I listened to it maybe 6 times on Saturday afternoon, because I only have it on vinyl I can't listen to it anywhere but at home. And it's one of my favourite songs, so I stocked up.
and thanks to a poll on a different website I was listening to the original Paris remix quite a lot last night! Although the Shapiro one I posted upthread was getting slightly more action. Am now listening to this mash-up - so far totally working
They/he are yet to touch anything that hasn't been 100% completely brilliant.
I'm all about this one at the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mvSHevf68o
but also has glam-rock elements - pure fucking kinesis
and oh my the last couple of minutes - is Aeroplane by law required to raise things that extra level at the end?
this is the soundtrack to the best cop show ever
Other remixes of theirs you simply HAVE to find:
Lindstrom & Christabelle - Baby Can't Stope
Sebastien Tellier - Kilometer
Grace Jones - William's Blood
Oh and this is the first single off their debut album which comes out very soon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfbYRU78GN8
Basically, Aeroplane = the best thing to happen to music for a very long time.
at least three times over in a row the other day when I was moving out of my house, pretty much the only thing that got me through it.
Joanna Newsom - Easy on the 2nd of July
but i did listen to Ostia by Zu three times in quick succession yesterday with only Dragonaut by Sleep in between each time. Ostia <3
Casiotone FTPA - Killers got played twice. Great tune.
easily my favourite track from the album so far.
Yes! Rockets Skates is awesome, love the bit with that weird electronic buzz that sits behind the guitars at the end.And I thought I was done with the deftones but the newie is a belter. CMND/CTRL is awesome too.
Roy Ayers - Running Away (12")
Pure John Hughes-eque goodness
This has been pretty much on repeat since the sun came out this year too:
Housse De Racket - Synthesiser (Das Glow Remix)
Magnolia Electric Co - Hold On Magnolia
this was listening to the King Midas Sound podcast while walking home the other night, and this came on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_ZcP4rwpkc and I've been a bit obsessed with it today, but not really had to time to dig out the whole album, so just had that on repeat.
The new version of Romance Is Boring.
I listen to albums two times or more in a row. Indie points plz.
Been Esben & the Witch - Lucia at The Precipice for me. Listened to it about 5 times a row once
where we're calling from. not really a song per se, but just a gorgeous bit of music. whenever i hear it i just have to hear it again straight away
Such a good song :D
Hurts - Better Than Love
Drake - Over
Wavves - King of the Beach
Been ripping a bunch of vinyl to my pc so plenty of it in fact...
Amen Ra/Double Helix - Steelz
CNN - Be My...
Flying Lotus - Whole Wide World
Joe - Untitled
and three or four tracks off that new wavves record keep getting replayed too...
Just can't get over how fupping incredible that riff is.
I can't even remember which one, I just remember it really stood out as an excellent song in an otherwise average album.
Moneen - Hold that sound
I love them so fucking much. This is the feel good-yet-bittersweet hit of the summer.
would understate just how much i agree with it.
amazing song, listened to it more than twice in a row yesterday and probably will do so again today. shocker.
Slip slidin' away by Paul Simon - can't get enough of it at the moment!
that all changed last week when i heard PIGS by Holy Fuck... fist in the air joy overload!
I put it on repeat for an hour at a time when I'm working on something at home. Something about the tempo lends itself to concentration and obviously it's instrumental so it blends together better than repeating a normal song.
DANG DANG DRAAAANNG
The only problem is you end up with that bit in your head for the next week
(No help whatsoever.)
4 times in a row, raaaaargh
YOU COULDNT MAKE IT UP
the TOTP performances on Youtube then on my iPod
pretty much every track on Bitte Orca has had it's fair share of repetition. Temecular Sunrise and Two Doves in particular.
I Did Not Call Out off the new Harvey Milk effort has been getting some seeerious play time. that album rules
today on my mp3 player, i had these on repeat:
spirit of the radio - rush
pursuit of vikings - amon amarth
everywhere with helicopter - guided by voices
i was walking an hour in the gloom and needed cheering up
forgot how much i love the song/jesus and the mary chain
Last night and first thing this morning. Amazing intro to one of my favourite 5 or 6 records ever.
Does it count as just one song or 3?
i'd say it's 1 song. you know that's Karl on the mic at the end watching out of the window as cars pass the studio and saying the colours of them as they go!
amazing tune. still their best album by a mile.
dubnobass... thank you very much
in a way that few bands manage, they summed up their existence in a single piece
but the other day I found myself repeating Tokyo Police Club's 'Not Sick,' which is a super catchy pop rock ditty. And then I did it again with Sir Yes Sir's 'Not Excited,' which is like Let's Wrestle crossed with old school Dino Jr.
Mel Torne - Secret Agent Man (just 10 minutes ago)
Trashmen - Surfin Bird usually gets played a couple of times when it pops up on my MP3Player.
- 'Bermuda' by Kisses
Listened to this several times on the way home. It's a great pop song.
- 'Hate That I Love You' by Ne-Yo & Rihanna
This is the song I most often do this with.
Somehow I find this song incredible and I dance like a mother fucker every time I hear it now.
(nothing to do with me, friend is local to them & thought I might be interested as I'd shown previous interest in Gindrinker, one of whom is in the band)
from "Ayobaness! The Sound Of South African House"
Cant get enough of them recently.
the new Ronson song, can't get enough of it
the smiths-this charming man, i dont even like any of their other stuff but love that tune
Good tune off the supposedly dodgy last album!
