Anyone bought anything good recently?
Might head over tomorrow
when i went yesterday, most of it was a fiver, and i would have saved money by buying it there instead of on amazon last month, which is really annoying. purchasing fail.
Just have a long browse, it's half the fun. I like trying to make it add up to a nice round number, but rarely manage it.
Most of that's usually pretty expensive. (I picked up Black One and Pilgrimage by Om whilst I could.)
Melvins - Houdini £5
20 Years of Dischord box set £9
Most of the Deftones back catalogue is £5 or under.
And it's got a booklet too!
50 bands on it
get it Now.
i love fopp.
thank you for the tip, Mr Bastards. Despite the ridiculous amount of time I spend in there it would have escaped my attention, had you not mentioned it
I was surprised when I saw it in there, I don't think I've seen one anywhere since it was released.
too a few months before they closed doors. Bought a stupid amount of Boris & Sunn stuff.
looking forward to having a gander in fopp it's been a while since I went over, and I have plenty of cash to spend too!
albums are £5. Gonna get me some more of them for sure.
Not much else springs to mind but I'm bad for remebering these things once I've bought 'em...
May have to check out the Dischord set mentioned above (if my branch has it).
Not recently, but it was such a bargain.
I got Split by The Groundhogs for 3 quid in there. Pretty much everything is a bargain, all the Meat Puppets albums were a fiver
Yesterday's New Quintet and Jazzmatazz releases for a fiver, when I was in the other day. They've also had a crazy load of Blue Note RVG remasters for £3 over the last couple of months. I must have spent a good £100-odd on them alone, possibly more.
I'm hoping they get more Boris in. I love me some Boris, but I've already got the few albums they're stocking.
I think it's as it's the Southern Lord releases, which are generally easier to find.
I'd be very, very surprised if they got anything but Absolutego, Amplifier Worship, Akuma no Uta, Pink and Smile. Occasionally Feedbacker crops up in HMV but otherwise I reckon those are the only ones they'll have.
Those are pretty much it. I used to see Rainbow in Fopp and HMV but that seems to have vanished now
as far as I can remember, the one I go into only has Amplifier Worship, Smile and Pink (which I picked up)...
Still can't make my mind up about them, I like their more drone-y/experimental stuff (love the sunn O))) collaboration), but find the overtly 'metal' stuff a bit hard to take seriously.
10 Years of Noise Pop - it's excellent.
Also Devo's Oh No It's Devo/Freedom of Choice double for £3. ALSO there is to be a new store near or on Russell Street somewhere soon and they will be giving deal offer details on Twitter in the next few months. Yep.
