Just got my first iphone and wondering if anyone knows a good app to scrobble with to last fm? Ta.
Don't know whether it's free or not, I only have an iPod Touch.
"The app scrobbles what you listen to via Last.fm, but unfortunately Apple don't allow background applications on the iPhone, so it's impossible to scrobble what you play in iTunes directly on the phone."
"You can use our Last.fm Scrobbler to scrobble the songs you've played on your iPhone when you sync it with iTunes on your computer – you’ll find some more information about this in our iPod Scrobbling FAQ category."
and I've had nightmares with duplicate scorbbles when syncing, or just no scrobbles at all.
With new OS4 does this change? Surely they gotta be able to scrobble on the go now or in the near future..
to release a new version of the app... Even then I don't think it's gonna happen. Spotify scobbles in real time...
Mobbler is good for realtime scrobbling.
works with twitter and blip but not Last :(
The Last App is a bit rubbish I think, but not played with it properly.
download that app from the app store, and set scrobbling to last.fm on and put in your user name and password. Then, make sure you have the last.fm software installed on the computer you sync too.
The next time you sync with this combination the last.fm software on your computer will eventually pick up the songs you listened to on your iPhone.
the regular last.fm software should scrobble your tracks just like it does with a usual ipod.
or am i missing something about this thread?
the regular iPods do this task fine, it's the iPhone that stumbles over it. The multitasking iOS4.0 is supposed to resolve this issue, but new updates on the apps haven't been released yet
..but I've never had an ipod either. I'll settle for just scrobbling to the pc when I sync until there Last.Fm come up with a proper app that does it on the move. Ta for the replies everyone.
I've been using this app on my Touch to scrobble via wi-fi. It has one or two flaws (particularly if you want to shuffle) but has been a reasonably good app for me. I understand it should be good for the iPhone too, though never tried it.
