for me it is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbg7YoXiKn0
aged about 4
and if I was female it'd be even better:
Gary Puckett and the Union Gap - Young Girl
love is all around by wet wet wet. i don't think i enjoyed it all that much.
I used to love this album of weird norwegian folk music that my mum and dad used to have that involved lots of mouth harp, so probably that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxOapWidM1M&feature=related
was music for doing ballet to as the cover has a pair of ballet pumps on the front, so i used to to practice to it. Loved that album too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-M-CgG6fKU tune!
Called 'Amra Shobai Raja' or 'We are all Kings'. I used to fall asleep to it every night. Actually haven't heard this for years, so it's bringing the emotion.
i used to think it was 'Noone' (turns our it was 'Noah'), which was quite confusing for a 5 year old.
i can't remember the name of the songs, but i got my mum to buy me the cassette and i listened to it all the time. I must have been about 5 or 6.
After that i got into the routine of getting up at stupid o'clock in the morning and going downstairs to listen to my dad's CD's. I thought i was badass because some of the songs had swear words in them!
... and me
the Monkees Theme Song or Daydream Believer, both by the Monkees. or maybe something else completely. my memory of early childhood isn't really very good.
Still love it to this day.
I think that's a pretty cool song to absolutley love at 4 years old.. I actually remember it being on the radio in my mum n dads room, and I just heard it and was like ":O" and then excitedly running (like wee kids frequently do), getting one of those toy plastic tennis rackets and putting my green lacoste jacket on and just giving it big licks jumping on the bed air guitar!!
Literally one of my first memories, and I still love that song (I remember when I heard it on Sabrina the Teenage Witch when I as about 10 and realised I hadn't just imagined it!!) Pretty chuffed with this thread 'cause I love that memory, it's just quite precious in a way
I used to get so so excited and rock the fuck out like crazy whenever it was on. I always put it on myself too. Still get an adrenaline rush from hearing it, probably the memory. Used to mouth the swears too much to the disapproval of my parents.
Something like "Wake up it's a beautiful morning" then something about the sun in the sky.
Used to listen to me Da's tape of it
DWANCER FAH MAH-NEY!
A-ha - Take On Me
Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark
Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
Prince - Raspberry Beret
Come to think of it, those were all off Greatest Hits of 1985 or something. I had one of those Fisher Price tape players and someone bought me that for Christmas.
no idea who it was by. If I remember correctly my Nan explained that toot-toot was slang for bottom. Which makes this song an appeal for the cessation of anal sex. Hmmm.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO THERE'S NO LIMIT
yeah, awesome. I would have been 3 when this was released
Or maybe Roll With It - Oasis
Actually, one of the hymns we were made to sing in primary school had to be sung so that each successive line was quicker than the last. Predictably everything would descend into chaos by the end. Probably that.
or Van the Man - Brown Eyed Girl
We played them so much you can't actually hear them anymore above the scratches
Remember hearing it on the radio in my nan's back garden when I was like 8.
By (I think) Middle of the Road
I think they played it once a week on TOTP2 for about a month in 1993. Just listened to it again and it's still a great song.
by Petula Clark. Still a tune.
Or possibly 'Hit the Road Jack' (by Ray Charles, not The Proclaimers), but I'm pretty sure the former was earlier. Ooh, maybe 'Rock Around the Clock'. Still probably The Proclaimers though.
Embarrassing. Apparently it came out in 1990 so I was only three, pretty good.
Top Gun theme song
Still sounds tasty to me, will probably be in my head all day now.
by Pink Floyd is the first one I remember loving but that may just be because it stands out.
Also Take it Easy by The Eagles. Basically it's all stuff my dad played in the car or at home on our old Ferguson record player.
'wish you were here'
Would never leave the radio when this came on as a kid.
ilkley moor barhat
sex on the beach by t spoon
It was the f-f-f-f-f-f-f-future.
(as I don't know when I first heard any of them--I just remember them from always), my first favorite song as far as I can recall was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8dh9gDzmz8
According to my mom, the first song I ever learned to sing was Hound Dog. I don't remember that.
I even had my own dance for it which i used to show off to babysitters...
