Oh fuck this is gonna be amazing!!!!
but that doesn't make this news any less welcome. I really need to get a ticket, even if I end up going on my own.
Though apparently he didn't play with Godflesh the other night at Hellfest, so I don't even know if he will be playing with them at Supersonic.
I really hope he is!
I very much doubt he will be part of Swans' live band.
I wish Swans could have got Al Kizys back on bass...
I know nowt about Godflesh. They sound good. What album (if there is more than one?) do I start with?
...an interview with Justin Broadrick discussing the Godflesh reformation:
not arsed about godflesh or swans. maybe when i was about 18 and spent most of my time sat in my room trying to feel depressed, but not now. actually, i still spend most of my time sat in my room ....
supersonic is always a good laugh though, and i'm excited about gnod, voice of the seven thunders, jailbreak and whoever else is going to be added to the line-up.
I was pretty psyched when swans got announced but Godflesh is an awesome addition as well also looking forward to seeing James Blackshaw, Jailbreak and Melt Banana.
I'm kind of hoping they get Genghis Tron to play since they were due to play last year but pulled out and I think they would have been amazing.
interview implies that this is the only date for the time being.
....digi remastered with bonus stuff. An album that could really benifit from a good touch up I think.
I've always struggled to get into Streetcleaner because it seems to lack the crunch and meatiness of the other records. I will be checking out the re-issue, that's for sure. The Streetcleaner songs on the Godflesh Peel session are brilliant.
... now need to work out optimum time to hold out for a London show before crumbling (flesh) and getting a ticket for this.
PS what's this crazy talk of wanting Ted Parsons on drums? This is the classic line up, drumming by machines.
it will be better as the original two piece.
The best Godflesh stuff is the stuff with drum machines anyway.
What I meant was, if there was going to be a drummer involved I'd want it to be Parsons.
