Pretty Bright Light:
Smith & Mighty - Bass Is Maternal
Smith & Mighty - B Line Fi Blow
It was called B Line Fi Blow originally, but was a properly limited release I believe. It's considered to be a bit of a Bristol classic, along with Bass Is Maternal.
Saw him DJ last night and twas absolutely excellent. He opened with his remix of Dubkasm's 'More Jah Songs', which is one of my favourite things he's done in ages. Of the RSD stuff, Koto, Green Hill, Good Energy and Pretty Bright Light are absolutely fantastic, his early soundsystem stuff updated for the next generation of bass heads...
The Pinch remix is awsome too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBAUHGw3ADk
Naked Mariocart should be a world cup song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOlmup7TTgo
Love On Deck too, don't think its on the comp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTSOVO7gl7s
Over It / Forward Youth is sublime too.
Guido mixed that into Mad Sax last time I saw him, madness.
I still think despite everything since, Pretty Bright Light is my favourite of his. It's such a curveball in Appleblim's Dubstep Allstars mix (in a great way), I remember the first few times I heard it I didn't know if I liked it that much, thought it was a bit wierd. It's actually just crazily hypnotically brilliant.
his tunes seem kinda simple but they just keep creeping back up on you, and they always sound so big in the dance. Just pure good time vibes all the way.
Pretty Bright Light is my fave as well.
His remix of Pinch and Yolanda's Get Up is so good.
It was in this issue...
If you can ignore the slightly weird text and formatting, it's up here in full
Well worth reading, it made me start investigating deeper into Bristol's past, I think I was in my third year of uni here at the time.
