Mines Run Gospel Singer by Archie Bronson Outfit.
followed by Machine Gun By Slowdive. God that sounds gloomy.
cmyk. had to start itunes again about a week ago though
though up until recently it had been 'Slow Show' by The National for well over a year, I reckon.
Didn't mean for that to happen, just spent two years in Japan and recently had to move
OP's "The Great Elsewhere" is about to take the number one
You can tell I've only recently got iTunes, everything most played is mostly new-ish
Can't really think of a track I'd want to have played more.
aboout 2 days ago, perfect to go to sleep on, last.fm already clocks 50 odd plays.
For me it's My bloody valentine's "sometimes", just the most perfect track, hard and brutal, yet so soft and almost sexy.
Yet more music for me to thank Skins for
if nothing else
because I used it as a alarm wake up thing for ages (ipod on a dock timed to turn on and play it at 5:30am for 2 years).
As a result the opening chords will send a shiver of nausea through my body.
B&S - Sleep the Clock Around
I also have loads of songs I've tried to learn guitar bits for near the top.
But its such a rip off of Young Turks by Rod Stewart!
But lastFM says it's:
Simian Mobile Disco – Audacity Of Huge
Xiu Xiu - Hives Hives
makes sense but for some reason it doesn't have as many plays on last.fm
with something insane like a thousand odd listens. Shit me.
This is the song that got me into Pavement and I overplayed it like a muthafucker a few years back.
Dead Kennedys - Halloween
I lost all my playcounts last summer (amongst the worst moments of my life tbf) so had a reset in about June/July.
673 plays. Closely followed by Gaslight Anthem -I'da called you Woody, Joe. Can you say generic?
On Last.fm since 23 May 2008 it's HEALTH – Severin.
mine is Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur by Sigur Ros
the top 11 tracks are all Sigur Ros, followed by
Time For Heroes - The Libertines,
Three of Clubs - Hell is for Heroes
Postcards from Italy - Beirut
Famous Last Words - My Chemical Romance
(then two more Sigur Ros songs)
Arcarsenal by At the Drive-in
Like Eating Glass - Bloc Party
Turn the Page - The Streets
What's My Age Again? - Blink 182
To The Sky - Maps
The Irony of it All - The Streets
Balcony Scene (from Romeo and Juliet)
Up The Bracket - The Libertines
Made of Stone - The Stone Roses
The Torso Was Severed In Mid Thorax - Meet Me In St Louis
most of these are from the sleep and wake up playlists i used a couple of years ago. and since then i've woken up to The Streets and Sigur Ros alot.
Apparently mine's Hatari - Tune-Yards
Then a couple off Mirah's most recent record.
Decemberists - The Rake's Song
Final Fantasy - Win and Regine
Bowerbirds - Dark Horse
Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes
intro - XX
weird fishes/arpeggi - radiohead
nude - radiohead
But on my new one it is: Norwegian Wood - The Beatles mainly because its the most fun to play along with on my guitar and its an awesome song.
Followed by Bright Eyes - Lua
Jacksonville - Sufjan Stevens
Keep The Dog Quiet - Owen Pallett
Rill Rill - Sleigh Bells
though I've not listened to it for a while...
2. Beach House - Walk in the Park
3. Spiritualized - Soul on Fire (I have no idea why - I think it's my drunk song of choice!)
4. Animal Collective - Bluish
4. Okkervil River - Savannah Smiles
Health - Triceratops
Rival Schools - Used for Glue
Most of my top ten are results of endless attempts at perfecting playlists back when I was DJing more regularly.
Skinny Love by Bon Iver
Trouble by Cat Stevens
Swim until you can't see land by Frightened Rabbit
Bit surprised by this. But I tend to stick on albums, shuffle or connect my ipod directly to my hifi and it does seem to reset periodically.
All good songs, if a bit maudlin.
1. The Bride/Dirty Projectors
2. Cheerleader/Grizzly Bear
3. Vigil For A Fuddy Duddy/Wild Beasts
4. After the Flood/Talk Talk
5. Remade Horizon/Dirty Projectors
although I must say I've been pretty Spotify-centric over the last few months
Abandon Ship by Micachu & The Shapes
Oyster Card Overture by Rosco McQueen
Leaf House by Animal Collective
can't find a link, soz
On my work iTunes folder anyway.
followed by several songs i didn't think i liked that much
Then quite a few AC songs.
Dear Betty Baby and The Lesson by Mayo Thompson.
These songs are seriously great but not at all what I'd have expected.
cos im shit at bass but like to play it anyway, and because its my favourite song ever
2. Apartment - Fall Into Place
3. Apartment - Ghosts of an Unforgivable Past
iTunes library dated from about 2005 - if it were for all time the top song would without doubt be Love of my Life by Queen on 1000's upon 1000's!
Still slightly obsessed with them some four years down the line from the album.
Then Today Has Bee OK by Emiliana Torrini, then Film by Aphex. You don't get a single lively song until you get down to number 9.
