In the vain of Sleepy Sun, Dead Meadow, Black Mountain, Mondo Drag, Naam, Black Angels etc...
psychic ills are pretty cool
the warlocks- remind me of black angels a bit
wooden shjips- QUALITY psyche
hopefully this helps. all of these bands are "new"ish
Six Organs of Admittance
Comets on Fire
you'd probably like a bunch of Japanese stuff, eg Acid Mother's Temple, Marble Sheep, High Rise, Mainliner, etc, but these are mainly from the 90s, so I don't know if they count as new
You may also like some doom bands with a psyche edge, eg Electric Wizard, if you haven't heard them.
Vocals are a bit annoying, but it's no big deal. all the bands they have been involved with in the past are great as well, Magic Hour, Crystalised Movements, and a bunch of others.
bardo pond, comets on fire, and six organs...
will check out the rest, thanks
I prefer them to Wooden Shjips.
but Bo Ningen.
But Sic Alps nears the top of my fav list in this thar category.
more bluesey based stuff and more garage crossover:
One Unique Signal
Space Bong (ya think?!)
and some more that are a bit farther out;
sorry for the lack of links, gotta drop this on you and run.
Any Acid King fans on here? The bridge the gap between Doom and Psyche better than anyone I feel. Glad someone mentioned Eternal Tapestry aswell.
I haven't listened to them in a while, but I remember Busse Woods being pretty good
The Black Ryder, Pink Mountaintops, The Lea Shores, The Quater After, The Stevenson Ranch Davidans, Sunsplit, The Nova Saints, and The December Sound
This thread is going to make me want to commit crime (ie - illegal download!) or...buy more albums (but would have to commit more crime to get the cash to buy the wax!)
Blues rock, similar to Dead Meadow, Blue Cheer, Cream etc
I'd recommend Wooden Veil from Germany even though their debut album is probably psyche in the loosest sense of the word, as it has has everything from free folk to creepy avant tribalism.
