It's already leaked though - The Black Dirt Sessions.
I'll have a look
deer tick might be band that are too prolific for their own good, as I really enjoyed the debut.
I hoping they've released this one so soon after it because they realise it was poor and they just wanted to move on as quickly as possible.
Their review of Pitchfork's review came pretty quickly!
Funny enough though
I like it. Closer to Born On Flag Day than War Elephant in style, but nonetheless with more of that feeling of anxiety and paranoia which made their debut so appealing, but was sadly missing from the follow-up. Plus the songwriting is much better than it was on Flag Day. The reworking of 'Christ Jesus', which was probably my favourite song off the first album, is just gorgeous.
Will check it this weekend. Glad to hear its better.
Been a band since recording the second album.
It was self-released and a lot of the tracks were re-recorded for War Elephant though.
I liked it.
War Elephant is fucking amazing. The two since then have been disappointing.
Nobody cared :(
It's a decent album some nice tunes but not as good as born on flag day or war elephant.EP was pretty good, John McCauley is a fucking hero.
I should have really looked at the date on it.
Don't be silly.
This album is more laid back alright, maybe I just have not given it enough listens because when i listened to born on flag day first i was not happy.
Really middle-of-the-road, I think. You know when the best has the line "True loooooooove, it's hard to find it", you're in trouble.
Did you check out his personal last.fm page that time i sent you a link?
Which is great, shows he is not struggling to get out new stuff.
I can only get "more fuel for the fire"
Gave the new album another listen last night, and I've decided I really like it. A stonking return to form.
It's fucking brilliant.
It's £12 a ticket.
I don't really know who, apart from me, is going to go.
got one or two to come along so it should be a laugh, would be great with a good few friends who knew the band.
Great new tune this
I love these guys...Here are a few in-studio video sessions that they did in Nashville. High-quality sound and super raw...
vile name. really, the worst.
