pissed off that his band never truly "made it"
i need some batteries for tonight
if you want to make money, don't make music. At no point does he express an actual love of making music or being creative therefore he was bound to fail. If you're not doing it because you truly want to then there's no point.
"Your band probably sucks", says person that doesn't really like music. Wow.
but the dude's just surely just playing a role of joyless cynical asshole for our amusement, I'd hate to be that shit-brown fucking joyless if he did really mean it so I gotta sympathize with the old guy.
+ It sounds like he was a session musician, end of.
LOL @ "making it." Who "makes it?" What is this guy, sixty? Ninety? "I remember when I almost 'made it' in Benny Goodman's band..." There's some saddos out there in the blogosphere.
no wonder he had a rubbish time touring
We go see historical sites and museums when we tour, check us out at stone henge:
And at Stratford Upon Avon having a brew:
And in Cambridge University with a porter
And don't forget the fun we have in service stations, here we are at 'Fone Bitz'
And all the busking we get to do in the rain
a more convincing case than the blog.
That's reminds me of those photos you get of a teddy or a gnome or whatever that gets taken up Everest and to the Taj Mahal &c.
"It’s not that the old can’t play or sing or don’t have something to say. It’s that we’ve already heard their best stuff when they were young and no one cares what old people say unless they’re Leonard Cohen or a black man who weighs over 275 lbs"
Hope for me yet then ! I shall start eating at McDonalds for breakfast, dinner and tea for six months.
get to travel the world just because enough people love music so much that they'll endure even the most uninspired rubbish, though I feel a bit better when bands mention that they get little time to visit these places and are poor. But it still sounds cool, and your rubbish is being validated, as are you.
Sorry if that sounds twattish. I'm not in a band.
when you know that playing guitar is the alpha and omega of your skill set now and forever. So you may as well tour around the world in a half-arsed band and put off working in that warehouse for as long as possible.
no clues left
I got to have a good 35 minute look around a GRADE 1 LISTED TIMBER-FRAMED 14TH CENTURY GUILDHALL.
