just heard one of my favourite tracks on a Nixon advert before Hollyoaks.
i just came to this thread to post about that! radical face being the soundtrack to hollyoaks offical sponsor, wtf!
being used to sell british gas
I was sitting in a random pub in East Finchley a couple of months ago and they played School of Seven Bells and Staff Benda Bilili. I was loving it.
Also heard the latest Hot Chip album in my local Co-op before it had been released! Bizaare! I used to work in there and they had Power Ballads on repeat, the same cd for 2 years (except xmas time)
on childrens TV last year
It was bizarre.
Bizarre! ah, thats how you spell it, knew it didn't look right lol
Hulk hogan entrance music in a gadget shop
in HMV, about two years after OnOffOn came out.
at a waterpark in Portugal.
They used to play that "Do you know what it feels like?" song over and over.
In a small craft shop and that's on the radio. Song finishes and Because We're Dead by Slow Club starts. Surreal doesn't even begin to describe how weird that was.
in a branch of TK Maxx.
Hearing East Hastings (er... I think) on 28 Days Later led to me believe that the film would be better than it turned out to be.
I was flipping channels one day and I noticed Do Make Say Think (Herstory Of Glory, I'm pretty certain)on gardener's world or somehing like that
The Last Baron by Mastodon being played in a very 'local people' pub, I was wasted so at the time it felt like the pinnacle of my life so far
On a massive dub soundsystem at DMZ in Leeds was pretty insane. Wasn't expecting that at a dubstep night, Mala is a badman. Pretty sure it was something from In C but I could be wrong, it took me off guard I'm not use to IDing minamalist clasical gear in a dubstep rave and when its coming at you that loud and intense it really takes you off guard.
but Terry Riley! that's pretty insane
I sware it was somat from In C, I could be confused it was a pretty mad moment as you can imagain when its coming at you via Irration Steppas soundsystem followed by a masssssssive bassline by Breakage that takes your body out in one big wave of bass haha.
Mala cuts that stuff to dubplate to play out too hahha I wana believe it too, but that stuff prob came out on 12" already didn't it, unless he shouted Reich for a dub?
