I have to say, I largely agree.
It's so tiresome reading drivel from people claiming that MP3s are 'so shit' and that they only listen to high definition bla bla (or worse, vinyl), despite the fact that tests using high definition audio studios and self-declared audiophiles show no perceptibility difference between CD quality and a 320kb MP3 and only some detectability between CD quality and 128kb.
there's certainly a tendency to assume that all mp3s are made equal, also. The difference between an iTunes encoded 128kbps mp3 and a Lame encoded V0 mp3 is surprisingly large. The latter isn't distinguishable from the CD audio at all.
I particularly like the way he highlights the concentration of radio ownership, etc. during the 90s as a determinant in the so-called "loudness wars". Too often these kinds of debates focus on technologies at the expense of political economy.
