Updated with real times!!
correct the mistakes!
Colour code it!
It's in your hands.
here's a locked version:
posted last week.
I'll buy you a beer for this if I see you around the hotel. Actually I wouldn't know what you look like so you'll just have to make do with the offer.
Remember, it's the thought that counts.
where did you get that?
But it can't be right? HEALTH, Orbital, and The Field ALL AT THE SAME TIME GAAAAH!!! Why must we/Primavera Sound be so awesome?
that is a massive clash! I'm crossing my fingers they might still change it though, at least not start all 3 at 3am
Probably go for Orbital though, I've wanted to see them since I was a teenager..
I've really wanted to see them for some time. I just checked HEALTH's pre/post Primavera dates, out of desperation, and they're playing Rome the day before the festival kicks off. The LC! at the Apolo night. Great, just great.
And did anyone notice on Thursday Fuck Buttons start when Pavement is playing, and Delorean starts when Fuck Buttons are playing, and after Delorean finishes it's time to haul ass to see Moderat close the night out proper.
Oh well, at least first thing the next day we have Owen Pallett all to ourselves.
I doubt the two main stages will actually overlap
Are they on the locked spreadsheet?
on the locked one you can also see the bands I'm planning of seeing - it'll make buying that pint for me easier.
your list is quite similar to mine on the Thursday, less so on the Friday and very different on the Saturday.
Anyway I will buy you the pint at the hotel not the venue, so it doesn't really matter I guess.
*my boyfriend wanted us to watch the wave pictures together to start the weekend. Looks like I'll have to cancel so I can watch The Fall, who he won't be remotely interested in...
*BSS and Wild Beasts still clash, which will piss off many I'd imagine, (not me, I know I'm going with BSS)
*van dyke parks OR atlas sound. What a horrible decision. I'm an atlas sound obsessive but vdp is more of a one-off...
Is there just a list of the times somewhere? I'd rather make my own spreadsheet...
You can get the times here:
Although couldn't you just use the above spreadsheet to create your own?
I just enjoy making very fancy, colour coded spreadsheets as a distraction from my OU assignments.
I don't mean like OMFG ATPP4KFL! I mean as far as sound, lights, overall production value, location... And are all the stages pretty close together like I heard they are?
2) TBH I'm not familiar w/ every single band on the bill. Most, but not all. What's the alternative to watching The :shudders: xx? I'm guessing UI or The Smith Westerns.
worried about flights being cancelled?
Can't do anything about till tomorrow!
and I'll have three spare seats. Road trip!
but is not too bad on the other days. I was desperately hoping I would get to see all of Wilco, Wire, Les Savy Fav, Japandroids, Shellac and Pixies.
not too many other terrible clashes. who's more worth seeing, japandroids or les savy fav? i haven't really listened to much lsf but hear they're real good live
Incredible live. Japandroids are fun but very ramshackle. And I saw them in a tiny venue, can't imagine it would work too well outside on a big stage. No Age suffered from this in 2008.
... the colours may be too much. feel free to take them off. I also put the bands I know I'll be watching in bold, so you can stalk me, should you want to.
Really dunno what I'll do about that, maybe half of each.
As for example King Kahn & BBQ play there at 17h followed by Diploide only 15 minutes after.
Are there 2 stages there or is this timing simply incorrect?
i'm starting to get a deep sense of foreboding
I think a small part of me actually wants it to happen, it would be a great train journey, (although exhausting) and it would be kind of fun.
Unfortunately it would also involve me going in debt by hundreds of pounds.
I'm going to get there somehow...
if I have to change my plans, I'm not changing them *again* because of volcanic ash. thats my line of thinking.
but it's too expensive from Manchester (three trains). Driving would just take way too long. If flights are cancelled then hopefully I will get all my money back (not paid for hotel yet, flights should be refunded and the festival money could well be clawed back through insurance). That said if flights are not happening then the bands won't be able to get there and the festival will probably be cancelled (refunds all round).
Then I will just use the money to book another festival somewhere else. I'll be gutted but it won't be as bad as it could be.
then the rest of the weekend can come and go.
is my only real problem
yeasayer's good n'all, but Joker's gonna kill y'all.
They're album is quite overproduced. I'm not so sure how the heck they would play their songs live. But Friday night is going to be party time with Major Lazer, BBRs, and Diplo one after the next. BTW they could've got somebody other than one-half of a duo already playing amirite?
Two of my very favourite bands. Can't choose right now. My instinct says BSS because I've seen Wild Beasts before and I think BSS will be the better festival band, BUT my girlfriend is a much bigger fan of Wild Beasts. Agh.
