but you can't go wrong with Repeater, Red Medicine or End Hits either.
Steady Diet of Nothing and 13 Songs are a bit lame.
get the Instrument DVD for the best intro.
especially The Argument - i think it's their best. BUT 13 songs is a killer album! The first half at least.
the 7 songs bit is all killer! Especially Waiting Room & Give Me The Cure. It would be a good place to start.
It's fantastic. That, Repeater and The Argument are all their best in my opinion.
i'm probably crazy, but i don't even like Waiting Room that much, and i consider Fugazi to be one of my favourite bands.
I started with Repeater and hated it for the first couple of listens coz of the guitar tone (love it all now mind).
Argument is probably the best place TO START, or the first ep/first half of 13 songs (the margin walker ep is a bit weak tbh)
and you can't go wrong.
Repeater or End Hits out of pure personal preference.
It's great to hear them grow and change over time.
as the latter is so different to their other stuff.
but maybe not the best place to start? idk. Tbf, I'm a long way from being a Fugazi expert, so maybe somebody else can answer that question. I only posted because Red Medicine wasn't really getting a mention. And I really like it. Like I said.
if you can track them down.
...but i started by watching the 'Instrument' documentary film. The soundtrack to that is ace - which is mainly demoes for End Hits
i'd definitely say start with the instrument dvd, and then work your way through the albums, in whatever order...start with instrument though for sure!
The 'Instrument' documentary is great and it's an excellent introduction to the band, their music & ethics.
'Red Medicine' is my favourite album of theirs.
is a masterpiece
But start with Repeater and work your way up to it....
