I'm a young ginger male.
my internet is shit though. the gist?
I am ginger too.
liberation front anyone? We can call it the GLF.
and we'll get through this together: shaved head, first sight of sun get out there and go lobster to hide pale skin, foundation over the face freckles. If you really, absolutely have to, must, can't avoid, fornicating with the light on dispose of the lady's body at your earliest opportunity.
Freedom thought the GLF! We all know it's been coming, let's get prepared!
Someone REALLY didn't like Carrot Top's movie.
one minute silence would have made if they'd had the budget
Big brash statements, thin on content.
At first I was laughing, but I ended up taking it really seriously. I think it is really powerful. It takes something that people (especially people who are white) don't see as anything particularly different and makes you think about the fact that ginger people don't choose to be ginger.
Maybe it's just meant to be funny, but I think it could go a long way to making people have a deeper understanding of race issues.
I'm not really as intelligent as i'm trying to make out, i'm probs totally wrong.
Love from Buzz Killington
I think of the setting and feel as akin to post-USSR Eastern Europe unrest in the 90s. But with gingers.
And yeah at first it was vaguely amusing and then...definitely not funny really at all.
Peter Watkins Punishment Park (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067633/). except where that had nuance, this has gingers and shouting
Realising that ginger people didnt choose to be ginger (or black people didnt choose to be black for that matter, except Muslim people did choose to be muslim so what exactly has choice got to do with anything in this?) is hardly a deeper understanding of race issues.
This is just teenage political posturing mixed in with a bit lumpen headed anti-americanism.
MIA goes Ramones?
I presume you mean Stress by Justice
is how you make a music video.
Despite want anyone says I love the first two albums. This however is just trash. I blame Rusko.
the vocals don't gel with the music at all. wasted sample.
first time i listened to it i remember thinking "holy shit this is amazing" when the sample kicked in, but with subsequent listens it sounds pretty bad/lazy
This isn't the 90s anymore. We don't need shitty dance rock prodigy rip offs.
Che Guevara posters and public school boys tip-exing anarchy symbols on their school bags. Shit song too...they took a suicide sample, looped it ad infinitum and made a dull leaden track with the now typical craply produced vocals. It's like something Chemical Brothers would make now to try and nudge their way back into the zeitgeist.
not convinced it has as much depth as some people are giving it credit for.
Song: really, utter gash. Who allowed her to think this was a good idea?
As it's been said above it's totally reactionary schoolboy politics crap. And the song is terrible. 'Born Free' cos we're not really, GEDDIT?!
What if some lumpen headed fools watch the video, think it's hilarious, load up on cheap booze and mind warping skunk, and then go out on a ginger bashing rampage? It could happen. I sport a lovely ginger Lemmy style beard plus quiff so stand out like a big sexy sore thumb so am now fully prepared for the battle ahead. It's a pretty powerful video, not nice at all and I too was reminded of Punishment Park as mentioned in a prev posting. The shooting of the young kid is a similar shot to the famous photograph from the Vietnam war where the Viet Cong suspect gets one in the head. The song itself is a lot of nothing isn't it, very disappointing in fact.
Seriously though - mocking of gingers in general day to day life has always puzzled me. People fear the ginger and our sexy red vibes. Josh Homme can be our leader and the new Dr Who assistant Amy Pond his young filly. Keep strong brothers & sisters!
