not sure if anyones seen it yet, throwing a glass at him after is a bit off
And someone was a fan of me, I'd lay them out, too. ZING!
But seriously that's out line smacking one of your fans.
Just for that bomb. Amazing work.
That's pretty horrendous actually.
don't see it as a big deal. dimebag, anyone? guy could have been packing.
what are you on about?
B) When the guy comes up on stage, the guy just flat out lamps him and then chucks a fucking glass at him.
C) Reatard's guy is uninvited and is just some chickenshit hipster trampling on pedals. Who deserves all he gets.
...punching someone in the face in such fashion is the mark of an absolute cock. Punishment does not fit the crime etc. Rest in peace and all that but, seriously, what a cock...
and it was also a surprise attack, anyone can look hard if they throw an unprovoked punch at someone when they're not ready.
being on stage is a pretty vulnerable position and anyone who invades that space, particularly after acting abusive and unstable, is liable to get a kicking. The Dimebag tragedy is an extreme example but it's worth noting all the same. 9 times out of 10 it'sjust some kid messing around, but there is the possibility that it's some psycho as well. If someone had knocked that cunt out the second he stepped on stage, he wouldn't have shot anyone. extreme example maybe, but i don't blame the Big Pink fella for lamping that guy.
Your argument literally makes no sense. If he thought the guy was packing, then you sure as hell don't want to invite any fan onto the stage. I very much doubt that's what he was thinking about anyway.
Josh Homme shows there's far better ways of dealing with hecklers than getting physical.
or nearly breaking someone's neck, as someone pointed out below?
if you're gonna take a stance have a bit of consistency at least
I meant calling out the heckler and turning the crowd on them, rather than acting like a piece of roided up machismo and showing how fucking hard you are by punching some skinny dweeb who doesn't like your songs.
i just think there's double standards here. Jay Reatard is a hero because he's dead, The Big Pink guy is a dick because he released that annoying 'Dominos' song
'punching some skinny dweeb'
'some chickenshit hipster trampling on pedals. Who deserves all he gets.'
...let it go!
is it not the other guitarist who chucks the glass?
'invited up to say his piece?'
what's he gonna do, debate the election with him? i'm sure it wasn't a genuine invitation, it was more 'come up here, say that, and i'll knock you out'
the only thing that skinny kid was likely to have been packing was a vegetarian sandwich for his badge festooned canvas satchel :p
The most shocking thing about this clip is the fact that the guy from the Big Pink could actually throw a punch and floor someone.
it seems as though he was pretty surprised he managed it himself; kinda hesitates and staggers around a bit after doing it.
Skinny, hunched shoulders, weird gait...
Feel pretty bad tbh, and who even KNOWS what he said.
he probably apologised, albeit delivering it so meekly as to render it inaudible, before getting clocked by that lumbering blow.
As if this band needed to give me MORE reasons to hate them...
Now there was a man who knew how and indeed, when, to throw a punch
I love musicians having scraps with their fans.
impact is br00tal
should have laid of the coke....
sounds right to me
They look too old to be larking about in Shoreditch with the kidz ennit.
But the only way that could've been better executed is if he'd given him a razor ramon style fallaway slam. Properly threw the bastard...
He used to be such an affable person back when he was in Panic DHH. I'm quite surprised he actually hit him.
The incredulous tone in his voice, as if he needs to justify pushing the guy off. Brilliant.
just shoving some poor wasted sap who's doing no real harm to anyone face-first off a stage. Imagine how rock n roll it would be if that guy broke his neck! AWESOME.
i died for your sins you mug, show some respect!
Cobain, whether intentional or not, looked like he smacked the dude in the head once or twice with his guitar. Again, dunno if it was due to flailing in the crowd or actual intent but that's why the Hogan-alike saw red.
...in your band would be security enough.
only Snares set the carpet on fire.
Holy Molar just roll them up and push them off the stage. Or the singer tries to get in the carpet with them. Or rubs his balls on them.
throw a gin and tonic at them and call them "pig people".
But this has revealed the true nature of that band to me. Shocking.
just as well you folk weren't around in the 70's
yer Big Pink man there is a douche but you just don't get up on stage like that when a band is performing - matey crossed the line
You'll wanna fast forward to about 2:25. Some top notch meatheadery going on there.
and dude with a bass guitar takes shit to its logical extreme
but the kind of cunt who attends a gig solely to slate a band is probably the kind of person who should probably get lamped a bit more often. Was this a headline show?
but it sounds pretty grim. What was the kid heckling about? Anything specific or just general abuse?
and sometimes, especially if they're 17 years old, shout stupid things. But they don't deserve to get physically assaulted. I have to say I'm surprised a few members of the crowd didn't get up and give that arrogant prick a kicking.
I feel a lot of sympathy for celebrities sometimes when people jump on behaviour like this in such a judgmental way. I don't really condone violence but I'm not really sure why you all seem to be drawing such a clear line between violence - physical and verbal - verbal seems ok to you but physical is abhorrent?
If someone was giving you dog's abuse and wouldn't shut up you'd definitely respond in some way. If that person then started to head into your personal space are you saying it is totally outrageous and unacceptable to punch them? It's only a punch. I've been punched a few times and not once has it severely traumatised me or ruined my life.
Surely the person mouthing off is the coward. Accept the consequences of your actions. If a simple punch surprises you so much then please, and I do mean this seriously, don't start mouthing off in the West of Scotland.
I love it. Moo Moo.
If the guy is pissing you off so much have the fucking security remove him, there's absolutely no way he's justified on getting him on stage and lamping him.
Beat your band up..
He was also a fan of beating up fans too. What a guy!
that Newcombe frequented a few times when he was there. Newcombe kicked him in the face once when he was drunk for no reason. Nice
he was probably on a cocktail of drugs. Are they touring the UK soon? Car crash viewing I guess!
Poke, is this your friend getting kicked in the head?
I'm not seeing any feet-head contact in that video?
you had a young lady with you making impressions of Hitler with a cigarette packet?
If not that's the weirdest message you'll get for a while
But i will pass this query on for sure. haha
OFF THE STAGE! and all he does is step back then step forward tough guy-like when security comes out. What a cunt.
goes on holiday, hits the locals
It's only a plastic glass though isn't it? It's not Begby.
ugly, mind. Reeeeeal ugly.
that will need a bag of frozen peas
dat's goitta hoirt
I wann maa moneee back!
just realised he's not technically a musician. Ignore me people.
I foresee a lawsuit followed by The Big Pink appearing on a US Immigration 'Fuck right off' list.
No bad thing for this shite band of course, but I hope they weren't counting on touring the US again any time soon.
I feel like the US has brushed them off. They're not chillwave enough.
You didn't mouth off to Nick Cave or Greg Dulli back in the day, either. Nice 'here's one for the road!' from the other guitarist at the end, too.
Not sure why they'd set that up, but he doesn't make great contact and yet the punchee goes down like Filippo Inzaghi. It also seems odd that the punchee is standing in the front row, but walks all the way round to the side of the stage rather than just hopping onto it in what looks like quite a busy club, with security looking on with nonchalant indifference.
Sorry, what I meant to say was...eh?
but this is pretty pathetic. As people have said, the kid is probably just some drunk teen-doesn't deserve to get assaulted like that. Manbearpig is a fucking idiot. When was the last time someone brought a gun to an indie show or any show for that matter? Comical.
Speculation maybe, but I know that the band used to be A & R guys or something, and have cultivated this rockstar appearance-is this simply the next stage?
also, fuck off.
are The Big Pink?
I don't really feel bad about it either. That kid goes down in a very hilarious fashion. Sure the guy was a douche for hitting him, but one douche hitting another douche isn't gonna squeeze much empathy out of me. Sidenote: The Big Pink are not going to "make it" in the US.
to say he hits like a girl is an insult to girls. Even worse he does it when the kid isnt expecting it. Talk about keeping your dignity...not very professional either.
Twat doesn't even wait for him to get up on the same stage/level as him, the pansy-haired-in-a-shit-band-pseudo-punk cunt. The guy he hit probably wasn't even doing much.
is the schmindie tits on DiS who've only ever heard Dominos on Radio 1 ad nauseum getting their self-righteous knickers in a twist.
Dude acted like a twat. Got called on it. Thought he was tough enough. Got shown he wasn't. Band played on. End.
"Wahh wahh sucker punch wahh wahh sue" - listen to yourselves, people.
They can't possibly know anything. How dare they?
What a bellend.
I can't really see how it was a sucker punch. A confrontation had ensued, escalated, and wasn't diffused - and in such cases *someone* invariably has to throw the first punch. The fact that the lad went down like a tonne of bricks after that punch, instead of responding with a flurry of his own, doesn't make it a sucker punch in my book. Fight or flight - should have been more alert and seen it coming.
That's not to say that I don't find the singer's actions abhorrent though. A Josh Homme style verbal disection would've been plenty.
never really got the big pink, just seems like massively overrated shit... feel free to try convince me anyone... actually don't
Got chatting to a guy at the bar at Oxford Academy a while ago whilst I was waiting for Siversun Pick-ups to come on.
He told me that he was 'only there for the beer'.....
So you pay £10 or however much it was in order to gain access to watered down Tuborg in a plastic cup, retailing at approximately 40% more per pint than almost any other bar in town.
boycotting Crystal Castles is so 2008.
loved the first one
