<jag> The Last Dinosaur - Hooray! for Happiness </jag>
Hey all,
I have been posting on here occasionally for a while and rarely mention this but i'm in a band thing called The Last Dinosaur, our debut album (on a small independent Spanish label) is finally released today and although i'm sure it won't be to a lot of people's tastes there are a few people on here who might be interested in it.
There have been a few reviews recently that have been particularly nice, Nigel Williamson wrote for Uncut:
"There's an obvious, shimmering debt to late-period Talk Talk in their fluid approach to melody on an album that's warm, engrossing and entirely original"
The Line of Best Fit wrote: ""One of the most refreshing, creative and inventive records of the year."
(You can read the whole review here: http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/2010/04/the-last-dinosaur-hooray-for-happiness)
..and The 405 posted their review a few hours ago which is equally as flattering, giving us 9 out of 10 (http://thefourohfive.com/reviews/1900)
Anyway, if you like you can have a bit of listen in the usual places (myspace.com/thelastdinosauruk)
watch a bunch of videos for the songs on the album on Vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/user1247161/videos)
or even order from Rough Trade (http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_detail.lasso?search_type=sku&sku=324728)
Cheers x
Oh and we're also featured on this new podcast with that Paul Hawkins band
who I know frequent these boards too.

well, I might be ...
.. naive, but these are nice review tibits. Well done.
Talk Talk - Hmmm ...
I'll check it out.:)
Thanks :)
Hope you like it
Two more reviews for anyone who's interested
4or The Record - "This is a masterpiece, and each second is a reminder of that"
and Bearded Magazine - "A beautiful record made by two emerging talents that are definitely deserving of attention. Let it envelop you, and discover all the delights contained within for yourself."
..and another two
Other Magazine - "This is album completely devoid of ego, the reverence for the simplistic beauty of a good melody and the impulse to investigate it are center stage for the full fifty-four minutes of Hooray For Happiness."
Echoes and Dust - "Filled with moments of startling beauty and gloriously melodic melancholy."

To be fair
I 've only listenened to one or two tracks yet. I really liked the first one I listenend to 'Home' - reminded me being in a train on my way home. Very soothing.
Thanks for giving it a listen
:)
A great new one from God Is In The TV

"At times it can be hard writing these reviews, trying to be nice about bands whose hearts are in the right place, but musically just offer nothing. So when the odd unknown gem pops up I love it even more. Hooray! For Happiness is just such a gem - the sort of playful, heart tugging, wondrous listen Fanfarlo failed to offer. "
We were hoping to have a review on DiS too but it seems things like Christina Aguilera's new album take precedent over new music, which is a bit of a shame really.
I'd also recommend Bright Spark Destroyer for anyone here who hasn't heard of them already.

They are fantastic.
Liking it so far!
Home and We are a Battlefield are both great - not hearing the Talk Talk comparison, but this is not necessarily a bad thing!
Just listened to...
Home and Battlefield and thought they were great!
Thanks to you both for listening
Glad you liked them :)
No worries...
Sent you a message btw, in case you hadn't seen it!
