is midnight Thursday.
So that's tonight right?
Or do I remember ATP always getting this one wrong?
So tomorrow night.
If it's the rumour that I've heard, people on here will probably go a bit mental.
i thought Dec was belle and sebastian anyway.
prolly be neutral milk hotel, to be honest.
eh eh eh i need to no whether to get my pennies out
I'm hoping it will become a self fulfilling prophecy, like the time I imagined a tiramisu Magnum and then my dream came true! (7 Deadly Sins limited edition Magnum collection - Summer 2003)
since they did the first ever 'actual' ATP, 10 years, etc. etc.
That said I can't see many people on here going particularly mental about that one so I'm intrigued to know what JGjug's rumour is....

JGJug this'd this
i'd love it though
he said "they would have to be asked"
he meant that they haven't been asked...
I think it's his stock response to such questions
I hope it gives the punters a genuine choice of 2 different festivals. Presuming this one's going to be branded as the Nightmare Before Christmas, I hope it has that slightly darker edge that they've had prior to last year's. I'd like to go to this one since they're only doing one May one next year, which will sell out really quick no doubt, and I now have a policy of only buying tickets when they're at least 1/3 announced.
Albarn could curate WOMAD.
when will there be a Neurosis / Neurot Records Nightmare Before Christmas? Imagine the line up!
Which they brought to Europe last year for Roadburn festival. Not sure if they have done it Stateside for a while. Be great if they came to ATP but i think it unlikely if it hasn't happened yet, by which I mean they probably have already been asked and declined maybe.
with Dark was the Night artists playing too
12-14 December 2010, Butlins Minehead.
I'm a grown-up you know, I gotta get my sleep in. I don't want to be finding things out after everyone else. Getting information when I wake up is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
all announced now???
I think none of them would be best imho
PM if need be...
ima fill this thread with the worst attempts at humour ever.
I'm adamant that it is right guys
hed pe confirmed
get him in
Well Rock Sound are claiming an "INCREDIBLE" annoucement is due for Nightmare Before Chritmas ATP. What sort of band would get RS excited AND ATP would book to curate?
based on the way their careers have gone post-ATDI i'm scared the bill would be an equal split between awful prog, awful omar/cedric side projects and awful generic indie rock bands.
if that was the case
Mars Volta excepted, obv.
Dalek, Acid Mothers Temple, Hella, The Locust, Mastodon, Battles, Peanut Butter Wolf, JR Ewing. Awesome.
just means less clashes am I right?
I don't really know what Rock Sound likes tbh.
so i'm not tempted to spend money i don't have on a band who i don't like at all.
Please be Slayer.
trail of dead
i'd love it if it were wu tang!
i read an interview with barry hogan recently that said the dec curator would be a "good investment for atp"...so who does that mean? coldplay?
He's banking on a Conservative victory and double-dip recession to fuel the nostalgia.
Would be far better.
One-time Dutch Air Guitar champion donchuno
Erm... Fugazi? Les Savy Fav? Modest Mouse?
There you go. It'll be one of them.
Hurry it up, will ya?
...could Dean Wareham (Luna etc) reunite with the rest of Galaxie 500? I've always wondered why this has never happened. Mind you, I don't suppose that'd be a massive crowd puller - I'd go though!
OH MY FUCKSIE
The Ex and Mike Watt. Tim Hecker. Nice.
Can't say I'm too fussed by the curators, but if the lineup continues in this vein, I'll head along if I can afford it
and Scout Niblett. yay!
but they were on waaaaaay too early on Friday. They were too stoned; I wasn't drunk enough.
I'm not a fan at all of Godspeed, but the starting line up looks brilliant so far.
Ball-Hog or Tugboat? is pretty fun. Flyin' the Flannel by fIREHOSE is still my favourite post-Minutemen thing he's recorded though.
I like fIREHOSE, the only album that I have of theirs is Ragin', Full-On though. I'll check that one out.
BUT I'd love to see them again, and if they get some more along those lines I'll be chuffed.
(But what on earth the hype about this was about, I don't know)
as i can't afford the whole festival but am desperate to see godspeed.
by making you stay up until 12 to check though!
the night just isnt going your way.
My first ATP is gonna be B&S @ Butlins.
and Holy Fuck also playing. A lot.
Where do I sign up?
GY!BE + Mike Watt = Another skint month due to excessive ATP ticket buying.
Although, increasingly, people seem to be selling their tickets or whole chalets before ATP weekends, so perhaps I'll just wait for the inevitable flaking-out and nab some then.
Anyway, all very exciting.
after all the waiting and hype ... honestly, honestly, it occurred to me about 9 tonight that this would be the announcement. So I'm not bowled over but think it's ... erm, alright.
Reservations: two of the weakest ATPs I've been to have been based around the shock/amazement/thrill that 'legendary' bands have reformed (viz: Slint and My Bloody Valentine). Would hope that this doesn't become a Pavement scenario - i.e. rush for tickets only to be underwhelmed by the actual line-up. On the other hand ... ASMZ did play with Patti Smith at Meltdown last year, so if Patti were added then I am there like a shot.
I'd like to be more enthused about this than I feel right now, but having seen them four or five times, as well as at the Mogwai and Shellac ATPs, I'm not convinced it's making me want to shell out for the weekend.
still will probably be quite good.
