bit retro, early 90's
No to Yuck don't understand love for them at all. Have checked em out live to just not that great..
I don't think I'm ready to re-live brit pop again.
Pains of Being Pure At Heart do that sort of thing much better.
Are your ears working? POBPAH are distinctly 80's indie pop (revivalists).
Yuck are firmly in the American alt-rock 90's camp (ala Pavement, Yo La Tengo, etc.).
Anyway, very promising band, even if they are completely unoriginal.
there's definitely bits of 80's indie pop in there, but when I saw them they definitely reminded me of Pavement/YLT.
as well as the obvious C86 sound.
Steal the riff from Gingerale Afternoon by The Flaming Lips for the beginning.
Nearly exactly the same!
Is also, so, so much better. Hit To Death is incredible.
Came on here to say the same thing.
Automatic is nice too.
though they remind me of The XX on that track. I like Yuck, lots.
The Wall best
Very POBPAH and an equally awful name, but a cracking tune.
but this is good - and have to agree they sound lot like POBPAH, the guy who said they don't is a bit silly
That's not a criticism.
the Dinosaur Jr / Built To Spill show at Shepherds Bush. Now there's a sweet line-up if ever i saw one.
THAT IS ACTUALLY AMAZING
But every time I hear 'Georgia' I start singing the lyrics to 'Big Soft Punch' by the Clean over the top...
we're playing with Yuck and Japandroids @the harley in sheffield, 17th May...it'll be our second gig, we're called love at death beach, and this has been a shameless jag.
I thank you.
yeah, it sounds like YLT covering a song off Hit To Death, but that's no bad thing!
Are they doing the Dino Jr/BTS Dublin gig too?
