can't see this one sucking!
What's up with that?
this new one sounds like it's looking back to HAT and The Maggot a bit though which is a very very good thing.
Melvins shouldn't need to be sold to me i've just been lazy. Although you have sold it well regardless. Good work.
What are your views on Shrinebuilder?
It sounds a bit like four people doing their thing at the same time, not necessarily together. If you know what I mean. But they did meet and record it all within about a week or something. I think they'll get better once they play live a bit more and the second record will probably be better. There are some cool bits, but overall meh. Supergroups = almost invariably a disappointment :(
I just mean what's up with the fact that I haven't heard it when Melvins are one of the bands i've seen the most times and a personal favourite.
But yeh, it was more of a rhetorical question to be honest.
I should listen to Melvins more often
Melvins fans who like the stuff like Honky and Boris should try Ufomammut. This album is great.
Pink is one of my all time favourite rock albums, and Feedbacker is gorgeous stuff. Love Heavy Rocks as well.
I just think they're a little inconsistent at times...Smile really doesn't do it for me, as it sounds a bit too 'shiny'. Akuma No Uta was the same.
this is going to be so sweet
but then Melvins are one of the most consistent bands around. It's hard to tell from snippets on youtube, but it sounds like they've further developed the two drum sound. Some satisfyingly meaty riffs on there too
