R.E.M. - Belong
is a contender
I've a feeling that "In the Mouth a Desert" by Pavement doesn't change either.
sat down to learn it for the [JAG] 4or5 magicians pavement tribute show in May [/JAG] and found out just that... it seemed so much more complicated...!
Not my favourite but Learn to Fly by Foo's is the same verse/churus/verse
Sufjan Stevens - Chicago or Casimir Pulaski Day
I like Radiohead, lots, but fuck, this song practically invents bedwetter
would be on the list, no? Then again, does it have chords as such?
Same verse and chorus chords and overwhelming evidence of the genius of John Roderick
Go With The Flow by Queens did that pretty well
Even has the same melody.
after posting this, and although I'm essentially right, it does change for the middle 8 but that's allowed right?
A killer middle 8 can make a song great.
Eleanor Rigby's verse doesn't use the same chords as the chorus.
Apart from that: Why?
On the topic of this song, has anyone heard Aretha Franklin's version of this song? I've just started learning it and have to say I prefer it to the original.... controversial!! I am quite a soul fan though.
My acoustic band has just written a song with the same chord progression throughout, and vocally it's really good but my guitarist gets bored!! Sometimes it's good to get away from the predictable changes in songs. Mix it up a bit!!
