i diiiiiiiiid it (bought a ticket)
see you later jamie
4 is much more cosy.
I think, the room is going to be PACKED!
tonight is going to SLAY. it better anyway!
Should be a real tear-jerker.
i'm going to Oxford tomorrow though. WHO'S GOING TO OXFORD?
I am in Oxford.
Crablin/Diver DJ sets at both likely to include something new from 65days... assuming the album's not been all over the internet and everyone's heard it.
I write this as I'm playing it. Again. Lordy, it's good.
you should play that epic long one. with the fuck buttons vibe. i forget what its called. (havent heard the album - i just remember it from seeing them last year)
It's a great closer. For any occasion.
you could always just play out the whole album? i'm sure everyone there wants to hear it :D
album sampler/teaser up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP1gKj9rAX4
its like all the previous versions of those songs i'd heard (live/bootlegs/radio) were just sketches they were working on and these are all fully fleshed out. can't wait to get the album and crank it up on my stereo at home! fuck the neighbours etc.
with bells on.
Though I've only listened to them twice.
And one of those was this morning
and I've been bigging them up across the interwebs since I heard Hurrah!
Good Nature was my second-favourite record of 2008, too. Just behind, um, Thomas White's 'I Dream Of Black'. Although curiously when it came to my decade list, Late Of The Pier snuck in just before it (at 10, to GN's 14).
Still one of the best progressive albums of the 00's, and I hope they go out with an almighty wallop. Would love to be there but sadly not to be; I'll treasure seeing them in Cambridge in late '07. Nice fellas too.
...when should I turn up to try? I'd imagine a bit before doors. There'll probably be a few folk eager to catch them! Trumpet-powered indieprog has never been so popular.
ADAM GNADE: 7.30pm – 8pm
FRIENDSHIP: 8.20pm – 8.50pm
YOUTHMOVIES: 9.15pm– 10.30pm
*MIKE DIVER & COLIN ROBERTS DJ IN BETWEEN SETS
Here's a map, which might help to a) get you there and b) make me feel like i CAN be efficient after all (brushing past the fact I forgot it yesterday..)
Again, we may have a handful of tickets on the door - so get down early and have a booze with us.
well I'll try my luck. need to get my ticketing priorities right next time - I've already got my Boadrum London pass, and would you know I have an exam on Media Law the next friggin' day...
I'll give it a shot. Will be the dude in the crimson beret, the should-have-cut-that-four-months-ago hair, and the impossibly tight, '07-vintage YMSS shirt.
Arguably as important, exciting and memorable as the band's show itself. It's what everyone has really been waiting for.
You can unTHIS that which has been THISsed.
I may pull out some Rudi Zygadlo later. You heard this dude?
HAMM... i'll get my coat time!
very excited about this, last time i saw them was water rats.
Gonna be so awesome tonight
pity there was nowt from 'Lets Get Going' though
was the supercolon guy
great show, obviously. moshing towards the end was real. band was fantastic. time-signatures were bodacious.
Brilliant night, made me wish they weren't splitting up all the more. You rarely realise how important something is until it's gone. Wish I could be there in Oxford tonight but hope anyone who is going has a fantastic night.
Cheerio chaps - it's been a blast!
They will be sorely missed.
I took some photos. Apologies if I pissed anyone off in doing so, but they are here, if anyone wants a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/markyssnaps/sets/72157623590070111/
evening - such an incredible performance from YMSS... I'm sad but also excited to see what comes next!!!
i just tried mine own. totally see-through :(
was it just mine that seems to be made of tracing paper? its literally barely wearable :(
