I quite like them. I think I might go and see them in Brixton tomorrow.
Anyone else a fan?
Pfft. They're signed to Monotreme, are touring with 65days and have a Japanese (and I think female) vocalist. Two years ago you'd have all been all over them.
I'm loving Condors at the moment, and looking forward to seeing them support 65......shame on DIS for not picking up on them.....
we've played with em a few times, and are putting them on in leeds with Maybeshewill come June! nice guys.
I definitely hope to be going to their show in Manchester, but I might have to go to my sister and get to know what it feels like to be uncle
in Brixton by the way.
I think by the time they've done the 65days tour in May. Word will of spread a lot more.
I'm looking forward to their set for us later on.
You going to pop along later?
Just listening to their record for the first time now and it's grand. Sticking a CD (and not a CD-R!) in with the LP is a nice touch.
They were on top form!
They have some ethereal magic.
Jurassic Park man.
like them myself, saw them at The Social and were great
What could be better than being named after a man who gets his face melted by dino spit?
I am going to listen to these guys purely because of their awesome-o name
but as they are on Monotreme and the album is on Spotify I shall give them a listen. thanks!
imagine it'd be fun live with a big soundsystem
I liked it man, I'll check them out further.
I've added Squid Cat Battle to my favs of 2010 already!
melodic dubstep hoorah!
Gonna see them in april
all sorts of time for them personally
on Thursday. Enjoyed their set. Fantastic venue and sound, though I think Nedry could've done with more bass for maximum impact. Lovely people too.
in Reading at The Oakford on Tues 27th April for us,if you fancy it?
I really like them! Glad they are having great press at the moment cause they deserve!
They're a little clunky with the electronics sometimes but the vocals and all the rest of it is so good. I'm digging that they're using a dubstep influence so well, the best I've heard a band do it along with Golau Glau who do it in a subtler way. People say its in The xx too but its only really obvious in remixes, unless you count a bit of space in your production as dubstep... Sometimes it sounds like they've stuck on a simple wobble and a clunky beat but others it really works.
If you dig this band you might like some more stuff from inside the dubstep scene too, some parts remind me of Black Chow: http://www.myspace.com/blackchow The vocals do a simular Portishead thing, Hitomi the singer is in a band called Dokkebi Q too: http://www.myspace.com/kikihitomi As well as singing with King Midas Sound: http://www.myspace.com/kingmidassound She guests on all sorts too, even popped up on the latest Starkey album. Eleven Tigers have a massivly melodic, atmospheric thing going on the new album is ace: http://eleventigers.bandcamp.com/album/clouds-are-mountains some vocals on there too,m I know you indie heads love that. Mount Kimbie sound like post-rock produced by Timberland, you might know them... Loads more.
Boxcutter they most remind me of a really early demo version of Boxcutter might have made when he was a teen when they really let the dubstep go.
had put off listening due to the name.prefer them over 65dos already. cheers.
love it when the get the guitars out proper too.
