Does anyone remember/know the setlist for the Why gig at Heaven on Tuesday?
..do you need ALL of it?
were they, were they, were they?
Seeing them tonight and i'm like a kid at Christmas with excitement. Even though I'm having to miss Babybird for it.
Just the first couple of songs and the encore would be cool. Really can't remember which ones they played and trying to write a review.
Medulla, they were ay-may-zing. First time I'd seen Yoni embrace the frontman status and take over the stage
Mono last night, Why? tonight and Gift of Gab tomorrow = awesome gig trilogy.
Encore was Fatalist Palmistry and 21st Century Pop Song (Hymie's Basement)
In between, in no particular order:-
These Few Presidents, Gnashville, Twenty Eight, A Sky For Shoeing Horses Under, Song of the Sad Assassin, Rubber Traits, Yo Yo Bye Bye, Eskimo Snow, These Hands, Jan 20 Something, Against Me, Into The Shadows, Vowels Pt.2, Good Friday
and zero from 'Oaklandazulasylum' or the EPs?
although the encore had 21st century pop song which was the BEST THING EVER!!!
I've become really awful at remembering setlists but they did the Hollows quite early on...either first or second
Other songs They did (no order)...Good Friday, The Vowels, These Few Presidents, Song Of the Sad Assassin, A Sky For Shoeing Horses Under, Yo Yo Bye Bye, Rubber Traits, Gnashville, Fatalist Palmistry, These Hands, Against Me, January 20 Something, Into The Shadows of My Embrace, Eskimo Snow...
I can't actually remember if they did By Torpedo or Crohn's.
maybe one or two others...The last song of the encore wasn't a Why song, I didn't know it but he said it was a song he did a few years back with the guitarist on an album of some sort.
No Crushed Bones or Blackest Purse (my favourite off Eskimo Snow). But yeah Yoni was a much better front man than when I saw them at the Garage last year. Have fun medulla!
tall ceilings et al, top top gig. What did people make of the support acts?
I damn nearly took a fit during the first support act thanks to the slightly mental strobes...they really weren't playing much of their stuff live at all from the looks of it, a bit cack. The second support (I might be wrong?) were okay.
Thought Josiah Wolf's and Why?'s set were fantastic, had no idea Yoni was such a cracking frontman ('Get the fuck up!') with his strange wee dances. And whoever was on guitar did a great job.
No Crushed Bones or Speech Bubbles though, but still a cracking set
No 21st Century Pop Song in Leeds, or Yo Yo Bye Bye (which is gutting). Got Crushed Bones and Blackest Purse though.
The encore in Leeds was Eskimo Snow and The Hollows.
They only did Sanddollars and Crushed Bones from Elephant Eyelash I think? Plenty of Alopecia and Eskimo Snow though.
You got Sanddollars in Leeds! I was hoping and praying for sanddollars and Simeon's dilemma but no joy :(
there's just too much great material for him to play everything amazing... i was at leeds and was gutted there was no simeon's dilemma or rubber traits, but the gig had more than enough sick songs to be getting on with.
so glad he did by torpedo or crohn's in leeds :D
Fall of Mr 5th
January 20 Something
These Few Presidents
Brook & Waxing
Song of the Sad Assassin
The Vowels pt.2
This Blackest Purse
By Torpedo or Chron's
and then on the encore they played The Hollows.
and Crushed Bones. Fingers crossed :)
Leeds set looks better than the London one for sure.
such a good gig :)
SAND DOLLARS AND CRUSHED BONES.
did anyone figure out the crytic clue that was in the poster, something to do with barcode linked to Alopecia.
Me and the wife couldn't figure it so had to end out buying a poster in the end to get back for the babysitter.
please someone help my curiosity and tell me the answer!!
UNITED 955 ON THE FIFTH OF JULY BACK TO SFO I-I JOIN THE DARK SIDE IN A THIN DISGUISE ON CONSUMER GRADE VIDEO AT NI-I-GHT!
i bought one after the gig, but when i actually looked at it later i got the clue straight away so could have had it free! ah well.
and the gig was so good. gutted that London got 21st Century Pop Song though, seen them twice now and they've not played it either time :(
started with these few presidents,
encore (by request) was crushed bones & 21st century pop song despite shouts for dumb hummer ("we don't know it") and hey jude ("that's not our song dude" though did try an improvised verse t o the tune)
in between it was rubber traits, gemini, vowels, good friday, fatalist palmistry, brook & waxing, sky for shoeing horses, torpedo or crohns, these hands, january 20s, against me, into the shadow of my embrace (i think)
yoni noticably more the frontman (& acting it) than last time we saw em
