was listening to this and it made me want to hear more music with the sounds of rain in the background - any ideas?!
has at least one song on the album with rain in the background, can't remember if it's actually prayers for rain or another one off the top of my head.
Probably not what you are looking for, the storm set was played out as 'support' for Sunn O))) in Bristol last year with BJ Nilsen tweaking the levels from the mixing desk, Sunn O))) came on as soon as it finished, was pretty incredible.
have you heard his album with Chris Watson called Storm, thats also amazing.
also on the easy listening side hows about, Derek Bailey's Music and Dance. specifically Rain Dance. haha. oh god, i'm lame.
should really listen to it whilst not working and not via shitty laptop speakers on Spotify. Worthy of further investigation.
by the Doors
Do Make Say Think - It's Gonna Rain
Max Richter - Europe After The Rain
dammit, I came here to say this!
Wings (part 2) by Tool has a brilliant bit in the middle too.
Static crackle that sounds like rain, especially 'Night Bus'.
of his Dean and Britta remix mini-album Sonic Souvenirs. Gorgeous.
if it's the original one, because I can't get on youtube at work, but La Femme d'Argent by Air.
Chillax to the max and all that. La Femme D'Argent is a tune
but has to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Talk Talk - After The Flood
Simultaneously menacing and relaxing, an absolute epic
...but will go with "Rain" (doh!) by Fauna for starters
I sometimes think Burial has some rain going on in his stuff but then it could also be fire/crackle/records going round...
Isn't there a bit in Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell where he starts up a moterbike in the rain and rides off?
stuff, sounds like its rainin in de background.
Listen by all means just don't mess up his thirty seven hundred dollar lynx coat
Burial's remix of Bloc Party's "Where is Home?" but that may not be rain, it could be his trademark vinyl cracking/overall ambiance.
That ended with about 20 seconds of rainfall, may have been 'That Joke isn't Funny Anymore'
It's 'Well I Wonder'. SMITHS FAIL.
One of my favourite Burial things actually.
daft punk - night vision (the twelves mix)
Life Is A Pigsty
great def jam tune back from the 80s.
Civil War - right at the end when he says "What's so civil about War anyway?" hahahahaha profound stuff
Our 'Placer Hush' has rain and a thunderstorm on it, recorded especially for the tune:
The Who - Love Reign O'er Me
Guess what happens in it! The first 5 or 6 minutes is just rain.
and about a thousand other Metal/Doom tracks I can't quite think of at the moment.
... still I am directing you all to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Mu8MrCR5pQ A very fine pop moment, and my favourite and best rain. Britney broke his heart, you know.
...See Land from Neu! 75.
the entire album, 'Frisco Mabel Joy'
An album based on the sound of rain.
(last track off Return to the Sea, is effectively the sound of rain for about five minutes I think)
Here's to the Little Man
You can't really hear it hear but they use weather samples all through the song which work really well, it sounds like a storm building up.
