He's re-recorded one of his own songs for an excellent cause...
and I'm generally not big on the idea of bands going back and re-recording/reinterpreting songs from their back catalogue anyway. Fair enough in a live setting - but committing it to tape just doesn't sit right with me. But that's probably just me.
Oh and just to clarify - I don't LITERALLY consider it to be sacrilage - it's just a word I used in jest for added 'OMG HE FUCKED WITH PINKERTON!!!!1' emphasis. I assumed that much would be obvious, and that you wouldn't think I considered the song to be a sacred artefact in the most literal, Biblical sense.
i only bought that beverly hills cd single for that. even though it was a quid i still felt betrayed. last time i trusted weezer
