In a word: YES.
Last album was one of the best albums of the decade for me. The new album should have come on Monday, but it still hasn't arrived yet. Really looking forward to seeing them live at Cargo.
Not heard the new one yet
but their last one reminds me a lot of Low. Seeing them in Leeds in a couple of weeks so I'll have to check out the stream that manish has kindly linked us to.
I've not heard it either
But I agree that ...Dark Horse is one of my favourite albums ever. Planning to get the new one quite soon, I'm very excited.
^ this on Dark Horse
and Volume 1. Epic and slightly wonky masterpieces, like Low might sound if they properly turned it up. They seem to be obsessed with espionage in the lyrics too.
I'm finding the new one really disappointing at the moment. It just doesn't seem to be as special. Dark Horse didn't hit me straight away though so I'm hoping it'll be a grower.
Dark Horse and the first one are brilliant.
Epic and wonky masterpieces. I'm finding the new one really disappointing at the moment but Dark Horse didn't hit me immediately so I'm hoping it'll be a grower, just doesn't seem as special on initial listens.
see my 'musicians' thread for more info
if u fancy it like?!!!
Hell yeah! Fantastic record.
And brilliant live too
Months after I made this thread
I have to say it's a great album.
The neu album is called "Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO" coming out April 2 on Jagjaguwar (but it's already leaked!?)
and features fellow canadians Spencer Krug and Mike Bigelow of the band Moonface. Krug also played with Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, ...
Exciting.

Start a new thread Cronenberg!
Ya big jessie! I loved the last record and so did loads round here. Unless you're saying listen to the leak in which case (wink!) I get ya.
Even though, start a new Besnard Lakes thread or I'll do it saying you're one of them. We'll talk about the high points of the Lakes..
Why you embarrassed? Like 'em too much? I can see how it could happen.
My slightly drunk mind read this as Barenaked Ladies and got slightly concerned for the board
But I may give the Besnard Lakes a listen.
oi, lay off BNL
Fuck yeah
Great records, superb live and super nice people to top it off.
great band
first heard this on a 6music show a couple years ago - still think its their best in honesty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYIFj5ZkZCU
Saw them support Low. Brilliant live.
