Did I miss the thread?
figaro and some other tune i didn't recognise sounded amazing though.
the hype man was annoying.
really lively (didn't seem like he was going through the motions at all), great atmosphere and the crowd were totally into it (the place erupted when he came out for real after the imposter). Sound was far far too bass heavy but I was right at the front so didn't bother me that much, may have pissed me off if I was nearer the back.
And it pissed me right off. A few times it was getting towards the end of a track and I only realised which track had been playing during the last few bars, as you couldn't make anything out.
That imposter thing annoyed me too. Maybe I just lack a sense of humour.
.. far too bass heavy which meant you couldn't hear any of the samples, let alone a lot of his rapping. Was also disappointed that it had to be Accordian on the 'imposter' joke - the best song which we couldn't see him doing! It was DOOM actually rapping over it though i think (?) as it didn't sound like a recording.
Thought Ryoichi Kurokawa was immense and that they were some of the best visuals i've seen for clarity. I was also a little disappointed that everyone left after DOOM, poor old Matthew Herbert.. I guess Roska was probably djing to about 3 people by the end. That said it was a good night as the crowd made it a pretty enjoyable experience for DOOM.
I loved the atmosphere, his delivery and everything else. Not disappointing at all. Hard to hear the words but I knew a lot of them already so who cares? Did Matthew Herbert do anything interesting afterwards? We had to leave. The DJ before DOOM was pretty good.
more techno than I expected (dropped Spastik at one point) but nothing earthshattering. Deserved more people to be there (probably about 100-150 left in the main room, nearer around 10-20 during Roska's set) but the vast majority of the crowd were only there for DOOM.
I loved Kurokawa's set too, not really the right audience for it but superb sound and visuals.
first on one side of the stage and then on the other.
Did I miss something obvious? I think DOOM refered to him as his ninja or something like that. I thought it might be a bodyguard but that seemed a bit unlikely.
