i've listened to some of his stuff and understand he was behind various important projects over the years. i'm just wondering about this huge explosion in his being cited as an influence for example by flying lotus (another fella i have trouble getting into) and other prominent beatmakers of today.
in summary, should i just listen to donuts a few more times? are there any particular tracks i should listen to? is it more based on techniques/a style he created than the music itself? (something which i can also respect)
any help appreciated, this is not a diss or anything just looking for assistance in getting into him more as i really enjoy some of the folk who cite him as an influence/hiphop in general. sorry for the awful grammar syntax and lack of capitalisation (is that a word?).
