Addison Groove aka Headhunter has made an absolute beast here, taking Juke's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5k99c9uR9g) hyperdelic 808/909 drum machine grooves and big bass then applying it all to dubstep. There aren't many vaugly dubstep related DJs NOT playing this right now, its an anthem already, people even try and sing along. Loefah is releasing it sometime on his label Swamp81 and its absolute madness.

Hahahaha, both you and lazerlife have chucked this at me this morning

Headhunter dropped this and 'Dumbshit' at Futureboogie the other night. I think I prefer his Addison Groove stuff to a lot of the Headhunter material as well, it's slightly unhinged, which I really like.

There needs to be whole new dance invented to this - I was thinking 'The Footcrab Shuffle'.

  I'm loving 'Sex At The Prom' at the moment too, I'm always hearing that too. But Footcrab is pretty much the most ubiquitus track I've heard from disperate dubstep DJs since Hyph Mngo. everyone seems to be playing it.

      its a track thats gonna be about for quite some time I think there isn't much jukey-ness about so I think its going to stay pretty fresh too. I've always liked a good 808 workout. Juke is a mission to fidn too, there are bits on juno download but other than that its kinda sparse.

I've got some DJ Assault 12"s in my collection somewhere can't beat a chopped up ass sample. I like the absolute all out madness of the 808 workouts with Juke the really strange stuff is so out there it just seems like a psychadelic swirl of beats and bass. I find that more exciting than Ghetto House. Dubstep is definatly a magpie, you could even add Eskibeat to that list it seems like its from another country now haha.

        It's already 13 years old, though, so I'm surprised you never played it.

Nice to see the whole ghettotec/juke/bmore axis getting a UK makeover. Incidentally DJ Assualt is probably one of the best DJs i've ever seen, I can't really take the extreme depths of his mysogny seriously, especially as he has a slight lisp.

*an hour of ludicrously outlandish, brilliant, hyper-percussive 808 stuff that makes Untold sound like Scouting For Girls*

Yeah that was a pretty sick debut performance by all accounts, hosted by Pokes with his usual hoarse charm. Really, really impressed by the stuff he was playing - it wasn't really juke for the most part, and the tempo was flying all over the place, but it was essentially made up of absolutely insane 808 kick/tom rhythms that layered up like Untold or Ramadanman drums. I have a feeling there may have been quite a few new Addison Groove tracks in there, and there was a cheeky refix of Roska's 'Boxed In' as well. Most impressive was the fact that the rest of the stuff he was playing made 'Footcrab' sound tame by comparison. 'Dumbshit' sounds beyond amazing on a Function One though.

  It sounded like a mixture between styles, so not as Juke as Footcrab or Dumb Shit but it had the mad percusive elements going on of Juke and some killer samples. But it seemed more atmospheric like his Headhunter stuff. I was digging it.

ARGH, I can't get enough of the Juke/Addison Groove stuff at the moment

The sheer frenetic nature of the rhythm soothing a section of the soul that rarely gets a workout.
Not a fan of the misogyny you're sometimes force fed in the raw Chicago stuff, but the percussive intensity has me hooked.
Addison Groove's mix from MAH the other night has me excited too, excited enough that I've been working on my own, uhhh... uk juke(?) haha... tracks... if anything good spawns, I'll be sure to share it with you first as it's you people that introduced me to most of this... Thanks!

Headhunter played half a set full of juke the other night

It was something else, I'm use to some twisted stuff been played at dubstep clubs nowadays, from the deepest berlin techno to the brashest brain fucking frequencies, classical interludes, beatles synth freakouts, funk,R&B... But Juke is a whole new beast. Relentless raw as hell drum machine workouts and rib cage shaking bass tones with loops that go from the rediculess to psychedlic in seconds. It makes me wish d'n'b sounded this fun and raw again at this tempo. My fave track of the night was prob: DJ Rashad - Itz Not Rite & Freakin Me On The Flo.

      He's got a pretty good sense of humour about his music though, I can see Addison Groove as his way of getting that out, Headhunter's a more serious proposition.
      
      Sexual is amazing, much better than Footcrab - there's so much more going on in it, really sounds like a progression. In fact, that entire mix he did for MAH was great, showed there was a lot more to his sound than jukeisms - there's a melodic, techno influence in there as well which comes across from Headhunter.
