Headlining Reading and Leeds, apparently - says Efestivals, which normally get these things right
Has Festival Republic gone broke and can't actually afford headline acts?! Or is it just all the bigger acts have been scooped? Very odd choices if correct...
My Chemical Romance are too divisive to be a headline band; look at what happened when they played Download. Plus its been a long time since they were in the spotlight and if they're return doesn't go down well, you'll have a similar situation to Arctic Monkeys last year.
Blink 182 I guessed would be a headliner and have no problem with.
Arcade Fire, who I love and class as one of my favourite bands ever, simply don't strike me as being big enough to headline R+L. Underneath a more established act, yes. Headlining something the size of latitude, yes. Then again, this would be the "Indie" pick of '10 and they're always a bit odd (e.g. Razoright in '07).
I just thought that after about 3 years of criticism for not booking big acts (although I must say I don't usually agree with such criticism) they'd try to get some real big names and, if this turns out to be true, they're not IMO.
