wednesday 3rd at 10am
although stumping up £25 for priority information does seem worth it with the gigs that have been held here and are coming up
srsly. With confetti canon, hilarious sock puppets, everyone abandoned their seats half-way through the show and danced at front of the stage, setlist spanning two decades of albums and 3 encores. it was the most joyous rock show (and hottest) i've been to at RFH.
tim minchin and phil jupitus - who's clearly a massive fan and sang along to every word - were in the row in front of us.
i ended up going to the afternoon 'family show' as well - surprisingly the setlist were quite similar, with a couple more songs from the kids' albums. oh, also, their saxophonist Stan Harrison was amazing.

but rest of family couldn't be swayed... was the family show suitable for an under four year old, just out of curiosity?
am going to have an ipod retrospective I think...
around that age group, around 3 to 10 (down in the stalls anyway). plus plenty of, ahem, adults without kids. i reckon there were a lot more confetti at the kids show than the evening one though!
also forgot to mention: there was a silver flying-penguin and jellyfish floating about in the auditorium as well! http://www.flickr.com/photos/luandjon/4738366073/in/set-72157624244288141/ awesome.
That's what makes this so tragic, we actually made it that far to festival hall and checked there were still tickets, had a good look around all of the science stuff and the BBC show, got drenched in the fountains outside and that's when the little one got tired and curated her own meltdown festival and we had to take her home... so gutted to have missed the show. And the jellyfish.
Did you have a free MRI scan while there? :D
