I'm at a loose end on Friday and Saturday night.
Hope that's not too pretentious for you, you cunt.
mount eerie et al sat
both nights. I'm going on Saturday!
...or Emmy the Great is at Union Chapel on Saturday for the Owl Parliament alldayer thingy.
but if you are a millionaire, it is worth going to for Blue Roses on her own. She's on at 6pm.
I dunno, maybe I'm behind the times with pricing, and I suppose the Union Chapel isn't all that big, but I'd say something like £12.50 for the evening rather than £17.50 and £19.50 for the whole day rather than £26.50 would have made more sense, and probably guaranteed a sell out.
If they can still sell the venue out at the prices they have set though then fair game! Still tickets available now though, I can imagine it being half empty. Maybe I'm wrong.
but find most gigs there are pretty pricey so maybe its just an expensive venue. £20 for the evening is a bit steep but its a few more bands than a normal gig (I think) but im a bit bias as id probably pay that just to see mount eerie
I have no shame in saying I've not been this excited about a gig in a while.
Although I'm in one of them admittedly.
No idea about the other bands playing though.
at Brixton both Fri/Sat, probably sold out.
Hildur Guðnadóttir and Iarla Ó Lionáird are probably the highlights on Saturday.
Incision and Dead Beyond Buried at the Purple Turtle on Sunday... Not sure if you're into death metal but I'll be checking that one out.
Mazes, Spectrals and Yuck at the stags head is going to be MEGAFUN.
and free too
probably not of interest to the average DiSser, but I'm stupidly excited about it
"Thomas’s 1984 touring band will be reunited for the first time in 25 years: but instead of rehearsing beforehand for a typical reunion concert, the band will meet ONSTAGE completely unprepared, and Thomas will refresh their memories and work over the parts to the songs, reminiscing and telling stories as they go" :)
of the complete and utter gods of music that are Sun City Girls. That should be lovely and only £7.
Psyched, in all senses of the word.
Ah well....seeing him at the Borderline on Monday will be grand
i'm probably going again on monday as well, well i'll definitly be flyering it for my steffen basho-junghans gig. also the first support on monday, C Joynes, is the support at my gig and he's amazing, one of the uks uniquest guitarist in this style, definitly get there early for him. say hi if i give you a flyer, it'll only be my second ever time after tonight!
at jazz cafe tomorrow night. £13.
I'd definitely head there.
The Ebbs ("desert rock") + Amy Blue (noisy gits) + Circa South East (garage rock with a grime edge, oooh do they mean like roll deep?)
live at The Crooked Billet, Penge (Penge High Street) SE20
This Saturday! doors 8pm / admission £3
