"Deeply unfortunately, the song Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, from Annie, has been lodged in my head for 20 years. It’s there permanently. No matter what’s happening it is softly playing in the back of my mind and one fifteenth of my mind is singing along. It is a nightmare. "
In a way it feels quite amazing to see her talking about modern things like forgetting to pay the bills or cable TV, because she's always seemed so distinctly 'other'. Really, really looking forward to the new album.
i'd wash the dishes while she plays the harp to me and the babies
...in the middle of a mesmerising set she went her bag to get her phone to take a picture of the audience. As she put it away she said "it's on vibrate, FYI".
One of my all time favourite pieces of banter EVER.
The Barbican with the LSO was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The whole of Ys from start to finish.
I cried like a baby.
It would have been embarrassing had every other human in the vicinity not been doing the same.
like 2 seats down from mrjdtraynor, possibly the best day ever, although I have to say I do prefer her sans orchestra
WHO KNEW that she wasn't singing in the most natural way?!
and Joanna's voice really has changed dramatically. I must say I do miss the old vocals which, in my opinion, have more character. Not to say that the new album is anything less than wonderful, of course.
