there seems a fair depth of wisdom on these boards regarding the genre(s) in question so...
some years ago I picked up a bunch of unmarked white labels along with a load of old-school stuff I was buying in a car boot (it was '97ish and I was buying stuff from 81 - 88 roughly)
One white label was of a track that was an uptempo 909 driven hip-hop electro breakbeat flavour from 88 or maybe 89. As well as having a fierce rap it featured the finest scratching I have EVER heard which kind of made up the chorus and was brilliantly fast and precise.
The record being scratched was Prince's 1999 album and specifically the intro/outro of 'Housequake' where Prince says 'Shut up already, damn!' - each word cut to pieces.
I never knew who the track was by or what it was called and sadly I lost the white label a few years ago
can anyone help me ID it ?
