Is not shit.
don't expect me just to take your word for it, explain yourself!
That if someone put it on I wouldn't be like 'oh my god turn this shit off' but I also wouldn't listen to it in my own time.
I still don't get what all the fuss is about. Okay, she's not bad, but she's not really anything to get excited about, either. Just the latest in a long line of artists it's difficult to have a strong enough opinion on.
I'm quite looking forward to it!
It seems to me like they've tried to cobble a style onto her and make her something she isn't due to all the press she got last December.
But I trust ya Mike, so I'll keep my mind open...
The producers have had their influence; but she's got a pretty solid character methinks, and the album's infinitely preferable to Marina/Florence/Little Boots.
It must be way, way, WAY better than the new Sugababes LP review stream I'm listening to for this 'ere site.
Sweet Jesus on a saddleless bike...
Someone, please, put them out of their obvious misery.
as they are all dire.
It's still sounds good though.
I swear she played a Boyzone cover at a Uni festival a couple of years ago.
...but is it unfair to be a bit confused and dubious? I kind of like 'Starry Eyed' and 'Under The Sheets' but they're not "all that" are they - really? Her vocals sound a bit like a young Cerys Matthews sometimes or pehaps a 'teenage Enya' at others, and the pop melodies are fairly generic. They're catchy, that's for sure but what is there to pull this young lady away from the spate of poppet pop princesses that have made their bones across the Atlantic in the last few years? Apparently she has 'lyrical credibility' so I will check that out but I remain a bit puzzled.
Why has she obtained some sort of mild critical credibility that she does not seem to be that entitled to? Am I just being a bit cynical and unfair here? Have I missed something?
she was a Laura Marling-style folk singer. And she was fucking amazing. This new direction she's headed in isn't really my bag.
