That was the first time I've seen them live. I'm not a big fan of their latest album but I thought that was a great gig.
The sound levels were perfect, better than any other gig I've seen there before.
I was quite near the front, but it seemed like there was only me and about half a dozen people nearby dancing, most people were stood still chin-scratching like it was post-rock show or something. Enthusiastic between songs though...
definitely best i've ever heard at electric ballroom. from the bit i saw thought it was great, reaaaaally good setlist though not enough from Girls Can Tell for my liking. White Rabbits sounded great too
I got there at 10 past, during The Mystery Zone, so I'm guessing I missed a song or two. Cheers.
I think. The Beast and Dragon Adored was also quite early.
Oh well, the rest of the set list was good enough to make up for it, I thought. Thankssssss.
no one at all dancing. felt mega sad for spoon, they were ace...
really good gig. white rabbits were fucking awesome.
that was really great. the sound was perfect and they played a pretty long and varied set. there were a few songs i would have like to have heard but that says more about just how many great albums worth of material they have really. the new stuff slotted in nicely i thought.
going in I thought that was a fantastic gig, there was a bit of dancing where I was, quite a few girls coupled with some dad dancing
White Rabbits were incredible and received a very enthusiastic crowd response, but Spoon seemed rather flat. Thanks to the rather inert crowd and a somewhat tepid stage presence for a band with extremely good songcraft, I have to say somehow I expected a bit more. Very solid set, well played, just lacked a bit of life.
I thought Spoon were pretty amazing, as you can tell from the review on my Blog [with full HD video of Written In Reverse]. Crowd were a bit subdued though.
