She And Him - Koko, May 7 (on sale now)
Joanna Newsom - Royal Festival Hall May 12 & 13 (on sale Friday).
Timing for Joanna Newsom seems to indicate that she may be int he coutry for a certain festival the weekend after...
I read somewhere else that Newsom was 11 + 12. Anyway this means even less rest between the ATPs. ARGH.
Or so says the email I just got from the Southbank Centre. On sale thursday as well (not fri).
Friday for the shitmunchers I guess.
wednesday for members according to my fancy members email.
Joanna Newsom in the Auditori would be sheer perfection.
and can't go on 11th. Might give the old-timers a miss ...
i.e. solo, with band etc
"Joanna Newsom returns to Southbank Centre in support of her new album Have One On Me (Drag City). The folk-inspired harpist and singer performs new songs along with highlights from earlier material, backed by her band"
ensemble shows then.
think it's going to be a royal shitter to get decent tickets for this.
I think it's £30 a year; you get priority booking for every RFH/QEH gig, info on them long before anyone else (that you can reprint with minor inaccuracies here), and there's a really nice members' bar for general mooching about/getting served quicker than the plebs at gigs.
£45 for the members bar access and free access to the Hayward Gallery too. If you go for the £45 option, you get 3 extra months free as the Hayward is shut until May (or at least I did).
Well worth it if you go regularly, no booking fee either.
combined with the cost of going both nights will cost me a fortune but probably worth it
Thanks for the tip.
You will have to put a cage around the stage to stop the wet indie boys storming the stage.
and have now bought two tickets for both nights at £27.50 each. Big collective ouch.
The website didn't seem to be updating for me, so I rang up to buy over the telephone. Am in the middle of the stalls, row N, on the first night, and in the middle of row C on the second night, woo!
2 seats in the middle of the front stalls for the second night.
but on the phone (almost straight through) 3 x row C Tuesday and 1 x row b on Wed.
Well worth the extra money - thanks guys.
Roy Harper is supporting Joanna for the RFH shows.
i can't really justify becoming a member as i'm leaving london this summer.
i was just being greedy and wanting the best possible seats. i'll wait patiently til tomorrow!
website didnt work, the drop down to select date box didnt work, assumed it was like that for everyone but seems not, probably down to the 'done with errors on page' thing, oh well phoned and got row d for the 11th
but phone appears to be the best way.
select date, hit book...nothing. tried to phone up, says i'll be waiting a 'very long time' and I have about £2 on my phone, so I just gave up that way.
i shall go try as well.
Website is a mess.
and the website is a disaster :(
I was waiting in a queue for well over 20mins.
This is where I regret having a pay-as-you-go...
and asked me when the tickets i wanted were for, i pressed a number and now i'm holding again. anyone else get that? i'm just weary of iphones and the touchpad crapping stuff up.
within 5 mins.
Ther are no front stall seats left for the 11th.
I'm sure you've tried but I was on hold for 20 mins on 0844 875 0073 and then rang '''' ''' 0074 and literally went straight through. May help
but i managed to get through on the phone within 10 mins
first night, front stalls, 5 rows from the front!
if the good ones are gone i'm gonna be annoyed, don't exclusively sell tickets for a popular artist through your website and then fuck everyone over because you didn't prepare.
Southbank members was yesterday.
I'd try calling, if you can. When I booked 10 minutes ago there were still tickts for the front stalls. I imagine they're going slowly as no one can get in through their website.
i thought yesterday was members/today was SB general and tomorrow would be ticketmaster/seetickets etc
i'm getting a little further on the website but still not getting to the booked stage. i tried topping up my phone and calling back but the quality is dipping in and out so much i'd never be able to hear them to make the call
You're probably right. I hadn't realised that any would be going through seetickets etc.
she's also playing the Matt Groening ATP festival in may:
rear stalls, though. hopefully they're not too bad.
time to try for the 12th now. by the way, i did this through the website, it seems to be very slowly working now.
got some rear stalls (haha)on the 11th after 40 minutes on hold going insane. anyone recognise the repeating classical music?
Though even after it started letting me select seats the following screen was always an error, had to repeat myself about twelve times to get through to the payment section (each time finding the seats I selected had just become unavailable). Ah well, end result is I'm there on the 11th.
i got right to the end and was confirming my order and it went white screen then when i refreshed it took me back to an empty basket instead of like the othe rhundred times it stalled and when i refreshed it thankfuully took me back to where i was. i haven't had a confirmation email yet, hmmm have i just lost my tickets? i think i can check my account on there to see if i got them.
This happened to me about 10-20 times trying to get Broadcast tickets. It took me at least 2 hours during which my tickets timed out twice. I nearly had an aneurysm. Then I called up and sorted it in about 4 minutes. Gah!
i called the website help number and got straight through. they couldn't find any tickets under my name and address but when they took my card number they found them, phew.
it took 80 painful minutes, but i got some front stalls tickets for the 11th.
Straight through yesterday, saved the £8 worth of booking fees, front seats both nights and no headache. Plus 11 months and 28 days left for something good to come up at Royal Festival Hall to replicate it.
Still plenty of rear stalls / balcony seats left on web - must be running fine as now, just went straight through.
when there were still tickets left for the front stalls on the side. Not sure if that was a good move now, looking at pictures of the venue.
