So this is very welcome, although I'm unable to download torrents at Uni so I'll have to wait for a while.
Proud that the story ends with giving any who care/d the chance to keep it all forever, and mildly afflicted with sniffles.
I was trying to track down the half-dozen or so editions that were missing from my collection when it was closing - only none of the given e-mail addresses seemed to work at the end.
Is this going to be staying up for a while, do you know?
don't know how long, but at least a while, i think.
and the issues that are at my mum's house.
off the site aaages ago, but the royal mail cocked up the delivery and they never arrived, and i never got around to sorting it out, so this is a nice settlement! amazing magazine, been an immeasurable influence on my taste in music, shame it had to end!
even people who didn't used to buy will consider the archives worth a spot on their hard drive as an archive/reference. been glancing over all the covers and i'm certain they'll stand up well - as you'd expect from a mag which gave covers to: joanna newsom + arcade fire + black dice + cat power in 2005, sun o))) + the gossip + silver jews in 2006, herman dune + deerhoof + M.I.A. + animal collective + wiley + battles in 2007, dirty projectors + glass candy/chromatics + no age + gang gang dance + rolo tomassi in 2008, micachu + dan deacon + grizzly bear in 2009...
about putting Xiu Xiu on the cover next time they had a record out, which i guess would be this month. that makes me sting when i think about it...
do these things take up a lot of it?
it's only 46 PDFs - much, much less than audio or video, surely?
actually - just seen it mentioned as taking 600 MB - more than i'd expected - must be all the ideas. and love. love takes up a lot of memory.
Should make me feel a little less bitter for not getting a refund to my subscription
everyone should have - mail richard at planbmag.com
email 'kick' (i.e. me) at same address and i'll chase. we stopped when we did precisely so the last capital we had could be returned to readers.
gives me a reason to buy an ipad (?)
this shit is classic and has just filled my sick day
Truly missing Plan B as it is, but I only started reading at issue 9 so this gives me another eight issues' worth of new stuff to read.
In issue 11 or 12 (I think, the one with Long Blondes on the cover) there's an absolutely excellent interview with Final Fantasy and an article about dubstep circa 2005, back when it was still in its South London ends. Still one of my most thumbed issues of any magazine ever.
I miss Plan B :(
I'm pretty sure that he kind of disowned that afterwards, as he was so embarrassed about it. I dunno - it made me go and listen to his music.
I enjoyed it a lot - I didn't realise he'd disowned it but I thought it was quite revealing, especially about the sort of stuff that inspired He Poos Clouds. Certainly gave the album a bit of context for me, as there hadn't been many in depth interviews with him at that point. Also, I seem to remember being very impressed with the term 'nerdfox'.
Miss AMP's interview with Grinderman was one of the most amusing ones I remember from Plan B - four big, beardy men giving her hell for suggesting it was a midlife crisis album.
I don't think he disowned it, I interviewed Owen last year and he was v.complimentary of Plan B (am sure that interview must have caused a blush or two though)
I remember him making a few comments in a subsequent interview he did for Plan B though, in which he said that he wished he'd never done it in the first place.
Only caught on to Plan B in it's latter days. This is perfect timing, what with a jaunt to Scotland coming up as well, should get through a bit there. Ta!
its pretty funny
Electronic music reviews can get to fuck - you can't read them in the bath. You can't undeline reviews and write 'GET THIS!!!'.
Plan b was fab.
Rock-a-rolla is good but a bit too metally and only bi-monthly
Wire is good but I have only so much time for Bavarian nose-flute and computer-noise ensembles.
I miss plan b :(
I'm getting 0 peers on the torrent, shame.
Is it broken?
it's still lacking seeders - the torrent shd get more robust the more it's shared, so maybe as next days/weeks go by it'll become more and more easy.
only took a couple of mins to download this
but any chance itll be uploaded to rapidshare or anywhere similar?
nothing has been able to fill the space left behind.
