Just heard Marina and the Diamonds for the first time
I mean, I don't expect bands hyped to death to be much cop, but come on! I'm beginning to think that much of the media just closes its eyes and sticks a pin into a list of bands. The Man from Del Monte, he say "fuck, no!"

It was honestly utterly awful. She's got pretty much the same set of pipes as Nico (i.e. low and out of tune) and if they are the sound of the future then I'm digging the past back up.

This is actually the worst thing I've ever heard
I'm probably biased though, since I've actually seen a late night channel four video of her explaining how she writes songs. omg she is thick. The programme came across as one of those joke music videos at the end of Smack the Pony, the way she tried to dance knowingly to HER OWN MUSIC and pouted at the camera. "I'm obsessed with the mess that's America" etc.
