What Does Your Soul Look Like
If you want to hear perfect music. Look no further:
Perfectly placed vocal clips (sung and spoken word)
Sax
Violin swirls
Vinyl scratching
Piano
Trumpets
Electric gueeetar
Chimes
Flute
and of course. those drum samples
All floating in and out seemlessly.
It really engulfs you in this feeling of self-examanation. The whole tempo, pacing, tone and down-tuned-ed-ness of it all will take you to another place. The song title fits brilliantly.

DJ Shadow
I heartily endorse this statement and/or opinion.
Earlier this evening I was playing the cd from In Tune And On Time whilst I meandered around my room, and every time a particularly awesome bit came on the volume went up. By Organ Donor I thought the neighbours would be knocking on the door.
Awesome.
Organ donor is amazazing as well. Turn that mess up! Let the neighbors knock, maybe they will just be wanting to know what incredible tune is flowing from the bumps.
Never head that live album, usually not much on live stuff tbh, tis good?
Well, it's obviously not Endtroducing or Preemptive Strike,
but it's got some great versions of that era of material on if you fancy a bit of a change. And some cherry-picked Unkle and Private Press stuff. Probably the closest he'll come to a "best of".
On a related note, there was a band at Bestival this year that went by the name of Introducing, and who basically played Endtroducing through in full on live instruments. Anyone else see them? A highlight of the whole weekend, that one.
Sounds like that show would be cool.
I thought I saw something like that floating around on the youtube a while back, some kid did it for his final music project in college or something.
Part 3 for the win
the whole thing is flawless though. In fact I haven't listened to Endtroducing in far too long considering it's my favourite album ever. Will have to dig it out later.
I try to pick a favorite part
but I never can. They all stand alone and together so well.
you a fan of Axelrod shippo?
you might recognise this one:

on another note, this one:

tbh, I have never heard mr Axelrod before.
Other than the sampled bits which are very recognizable here. By the sounds of it, this needs to be remedied. Is there a definitive album or two that needs to be had? Because I think I might eat this stuff up.
Song of Innocence/Songs of Experience are the two you want to start with
although the latter is probably my favourite. Definitely check it out
Just started up listening to these.
Looks like they can get got on amazon on the cheap, will do it, thanks.
You like dj Shadow?
i used to
not listened to Endtroducing in a fair few years though...
Just recognized this bassline from
Urizen from Song of Innocence:
Jurassic 5 Ft. Big Daddy Kane & Percee P: A day at the races

Always loved that little groove, and its such a small part of Urizen.
Since this is turning into a recommendations thread:
