either a seminal album, or a compilation of good tracks to start with if you can be arsed. thanks x
or The Name of This Band is Talking Heads for a nice live overview of the first four or so records.
"the great curve" is a excellent tune from it."The best of" is also a good place to start i supose.Talking Heads are amazing
Get 77 and then work your way through and you can see how they had evolved. Truly my fave band ever. Such a brilliant group. 'The Name of this band is TH' is immense.
Just do what this guy says and start at the start.
If you've primed yourself, you'll be more ready for the denser end of Remain In Light when the time comes.
Then start from the beginning. Enjoy!
TBH it's all gold bar True Stories, so, like, whatever.
i bought a cheap second hand copy of Talking Heads: 77 when I was on holiday last year but i can't put it on my ipod as its a stupid dualdisc :'(
is my favourite, it's halfway between their earlier NYC art school period & the later afro-electronic stuff. Sadly, I've played Remain In Light so much over the last 20 years that I don't think I can ever listen to it again - that's a compliment though!
or the latest version of the "greastest hits" (the earlier ones that came out are not "greatest hits" at all).
but basically you cant go wrong - talking heads. are. amazing.
fear of music is their best album.
