Pretty great roster 4AD have right now.
4AD do seem to be signing acts with some pedigree recently, rather than unknowns. Business plan and all that.
with 'lame ass' artwork, and is not that familiar with the odd 'lame mask' artwork that GGD usually feature.
they were signed to two labels before, the social registry and warp. The article says that they've left the social registry for 4ad, though 4ads british, right? Confusing.
i can't see this new one not being a worldwide deal.
is releasing a solo tape on trilogy tapes at some point this year
Proper spelling is important. Unlike Future Of The Left.
Home to my favourite band. TVotR.
Apart from Pixies, Deerhunter and Atlas Sound, The Breeders at a push... Can't think of any more. And Warp are an all time favourite of mine, but I'm not fussed as long as Gang Gang Dance make some killer stuff. I'm really looking forward to what they do next, Saint Dymphna was FRESH.
they were playing some fresh house jams
They're on my list for ASAP gigging though.
I'm hoping they get Durrty Goodz or D Double E on the next album hahaha.
that sounds fuckin' ace
Its like a 88/90s dance revival done by a jam band produced by Ill Blue, Marshall Jefferson and a Jungelist.
Like an insane band trying to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssFrrj3bodE Jeff Mills' version of Marshall Jefferson's Move Your Body hahah
Those organ loops are mad alongside the drums.
her super fun hyperfunk bass sounds would really work with this more organic hyperfunk insanity.
GGDs stuff seems more and more housey, veering away from the more minimal off-beat weirdness.
Brian Degraw did some mixes with stuff like this
It reminds me of a carnival/ african drum jam actually, so much percussion...
he's a legend, you can't beat a bit of Green Velvet... French Kiss is a classic always... Oneman was playing that the other month, the first time I'd heard it since fabric where I went to see... Hawtin ages ago! haha
Also, Tune Yards.
maybe Scott, if I'm in the mood but the yard of tunes... dunno about that really it smells of hipstergedon and I hate to hold that against a band but I've not had time to investigate to far yet and I'm sticking with it until I can!
They sound alright acctualy, like a focused Of Montreal with more acctual songs instead of just ideas.
probably just cause he's from Bristol
And I suppose 4ad didn't physically release his last album, so they're probably not in his best books.
