I'm listening to Super Roots 7.
Everything they do has so much joy/energy. That Mekons riff was cool originally but they took it up several notches. I recently put that and Super Ae and Vision Creation Newsun and Seadrum onto my mp3 player having not really bothered with them for a year or so and they sound even better than they did when I first heard them.
Super Ae and Vision Creation Newsun are both brilliant too.
that beat with the rolling snare drum is one of the coolest bits on the album I reckon. I bet it only lasts a minute but a big long version of that would have been ace.
just comes out of nowhere, after Eye's abrasive tape-machine assault. Bloody good album-opener. :)
sounds like a chainsaw being started up for five minutes and like you say that great bit for the final portion of the song.
except wound back and played about a million times and at different speeds and layered on top of each other. Or something. And also like a chainsaw. Who knows. Those really squeally bits are fairly horrible, but then after that you get the cool beat and the nice organ bit of Super Are which is sort of like album opener no. 2 and just as epic. It's almost like the first four tracks are the epic opener actually.
It's a good day for Boredoms!
I can't believe my daughter saw them open for Nirvana back in the day...
the lindstrom remix is well funky
What sort of stuff is it? More 3 drummer variations and stuff?
I haven't listened to my Super Roots 9 that much but it's just a version of the 3 drummer thing with a choir as far as I can tell.
Super Roots 7
Vision Creation Newsun
Chocolate Synthesiser. Is that seen as less essential?
