nice to see I'm not the only one who think Duritz crew are at the absolute nadir of modern music
"Joni laughs at the end of he original because it's fun; Duritz gives off a dour, serious vibe like Al Gore trolling for post-lecture vag. It's like the whole song emanates from his soul patch."
that gym class heroes one is seriously depressing
Did this actually happen?!?!
I've never heard heard Toby Keith, "Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American)", but I think I want to.
I think this demands a Spotify playlist.
Missing a fair few, but done nonetheless:
That song nearly ruined music for ever.
It is therefore a good list and fairly correct, though not as correct as if they'd put the musical nightmare at number two. Having heard that and the Counting Crows cover, I'd agree the latter should easily be in the top ten but the former is infinitely worse than anything that has ever happened in the history of music except for that "I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked" song by that talentless woman I've forgotten the name of who deservedly failed to get anywhere despite an undeservedly high marketing budget.
That should have been number one.
This is really geared towards the American market and whilst some in it definitely deserved to be in there, I feel there are a pile of tracks that should be in there and aren't. Anything by Pitbull, that hopeless Victoria Beckham and Dane Bowers track, a lot of the crap made by Cowell's XFactor lot amongst others. Obviously the Yanks wouldn't be aware of this stuff but you get my drift.
Tomorrow, why Time Out London should cover more Brooklyn gigs.
5% actress phone numbers, hahahaha
but there's a review somewhere of the Wireless Festival that Satellite Party replaced Modest Mouse at, and the reviewer didn't know either about the replacement or what Modest Mouse are usually like beyond having heard their name hyped. It's a very odd read.
Especially "She's SO Lovely".
Easilythe worst song in the last ten years.
This list hasn't even included it.
(Yeah, Girls Aloud/Sugababes, I know, but the blogs and P4K for a bit were all over them)
but to allow Scouting for Girls to get away without mention just feels WRONG.
Is that what it was called? If so, I not only want them on more of these lists - i want them dead and strung up by their bollocks. Fuckers. Absolute fuckers.
just listen to some of them ... a crunching atonal nu-metal marvin gaye cover for fucks sake!
in so far as that you can reasonably assume it to be an Adam & Joe-esque pisstake of mainstream indie music and find it hilarious. I hate the one they released before that that wasn't a hit but I heard on XFM a couple of times much much more.
Worst song of all time. Only 6th on this list.
"he came up with plenty of songs with intense rhythmic beats and lyrics about sex."
As much as I like some Xiu Xiu stuff, that track is just beyond terrible. It makes me cringe. http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/archives/2009/12/f2k_no_28_xiu_x.php
Black Eyed Peas are number one.
hands down the worst thing i have ever heard in my life
