I say no
ALMOST. I had it typed out and everything, but then decided it was unlikely anyone really cared. They're in the subject heading of the latest Mean Fiddler mail-out as well!
I was like 'Ooo nice a wolf parade gig, wonder where and how much *scrolled down* fffffuuck that'
What I reckon is, while Wolf Parade are pretty much unheard of out in the wider world, they're of almost universal appeal to the Pitchfork set, as was verified by the success of their last tour and the need to upgrade venues.
otherwise this is strange timing for a show. they've not played anywhere in ages and by that point it'll be nearly two years since Mt Zoomer came out.
im just quite surprised they are playing a venue that size. Oh well they were pretty dull at the electric ballroom last time, seems really obvious its just a day job for them now
oh man. is this in london? i bet they're not coming to scotland. i bet they're not. oh man. wolf parade.
final offer, Wolf Parade.
I probably spend £3 a day on sweets
this is my dilema
no. absolutely no.
maybe i could just level it out so i only spent £1.50 for two consecutive days. i'd probably die, or go into shock, or something. but i guess it's worth the risk?
and my last.fm events attendence is my bond. I guess if I spread out the £3 sweet fund deduction over the time from now until may it wont be *that* noticable on a daily basis.
But we all know this isn't true.
I used to get annoyed they spent so much time on other projects when they could be doing wolf parade but gradually realised that the other projects overtook them and that it doesnt really matter so long as the members are still releasing good songs under whatever name
I listened to Stadiums and Shrines II first time and thought: 'aw, should've been a Wolf Parade song'. Then I realised it didn't matter, as you say. The new Sunset Rubdown album seems really good, I can't sit still for an entire SR album although that is a personal flaw rather than something wrong with the group...
used to be my favourite song ever. it might still be, i dno, i haven't assessed recently.
^ that's a line from a song. Which song? I can't sodding remember.
and yeah, forever ever.
it used to take me exactly 10 mins and 47 seconds to walk from my bedroom to the library.
It takes me about 10 minutes from my house to work and or the train station so I like to use Indian Love Song by Dirty Three yeeeeeeeeeeah
I don't think you can price gigs like it's 2005 any more. Yes £18 is a lot of money but recorded music is dirt cheap so this is your chance to pay the artists.
is after giving away a solo record free
more just surprised they are that popular now
unless it sold out on the night, obvs.
and the venue got bumped up as well (it was originally scheduled to be at ULU), although the tickets were £12.
Shall I get excited, or will I just be let down again?
Also, Handsome Furs don't get anywhere near enough love. Face Controll's one of the albums of the year.
Also, totally agreed about Handsome Furs. To be honest, both HF and Sunset Rubdown have far surpassed Wolf Parade recently, shocked they haven't broken up yet tbh.
own nowt of theirs
has to be them and new pornographers both playing atp then. (NP at electric ballroom 19 May)
