While certainly the last couple of RHCP albums were weaker than ones previous his playing has always been fucking top notch and his solo stuff is really good as well.
Seen him live a few times and he really is quite incredible. I look forward to whatever it is he comes out with next.
he's always been one of my favourite artists, solo wise. Yeah, if he tours solo i'll be there. he's brilliant.
stuff and some live dates now : )
Although still not a massive fan of the empyrian. (spelled wromg yeah?)
is a real grower.
As silly as it is they're a band who'll always have a place in my heart - they were pretty much the first band I got obsessed about and an important phase in my music journeys. Frusciante was always a big deal to me in them, and what I really liked in the band was the sense of comradery they had. Up until the recent years anyway.
So it's a bit of a shame he'll depart as he's one of the main strengths of the modern RHCP - By the Way is my favourite album of the band and that's largely a Frusciante feat. the rest of the band type of thing - but then again it should be interesting to see what the band's new material will be like. And of course, this gives John a chance to focus even more on his solo material which has for a long time been one of my favourite musical things and has surpassed Peppers in personal importance for me.
That said... it still feels a bit of an end of an era for a guy who used to spend schoolbreaks talking about the band endlessly with close friends and fellow obsessives.
is the finest John RHCP album.
why didnt I know about this?
It's Dave Navarro. He has taken his shirt off and wants to rejoin the band again.
