omfg i didnt even realise they were playing :(
But it was a great gig..
Lighting guy had this stuck to his monitor:
Paper thin walls
Alone Down There
Blame It On the Tetons
Satin in a Coffin
However, I'm sure they played another song before going off and then coming on for the encore and playing maybe another before Cockroach. Regrettably I don't know their stuff really so I can't help you there.
playing with them at the moment?
It's not too bad ;-)
couldn't ever hear him and his chat between songs was the worst I have ever heard. I like the records he is on though.
so much better than monday's list : (
yeah they played trailer trash towards the end because people kept shouting it out.
yeah their 3 encore songs were spitting venom, missed the boat and cockroach
then modest mouse played 9-11
outrage! bit of a hijack here
I pretty much went to this gig to see Polvo who I'd always missed in the past. I got there at just past 8 to find that they were already playing and only got about 25 mins. Maybe I should've checked beforehand but for a band to go on at 7.45 when they are only two bands is unprecedented.
Then I had to sit through Modest Mouse playing what seemed like the soundtrack to the TV show O.C. (that dig is an added extra while I'm in the mood)
This wouldn't have been so bad if ATP hadn't charged about £18 a ticket. I know ATP are on here so just wanted to give you some feedback.
We've all done it, and the answer is: get there in time to see the support, as early as possible. After all, if the headliner/promoter thinks they're good, it's worth checking them out, right?
i missed a bit of exit calm, but i ain't going to get angry about it because I WAS LATE.
Never happened in the history of the world ever.
I always check stage times in advance, because situations like the one you describe happened to me all the time.
Yep, that goddamn greedy ATP charging going market rate for a band of that stature.
£18 for Modest Mouse PLUS Polvo seems reasonable to me...
for being gutted. I wasn't the only one, there were loads of people there who missed out on seeing a band that don't play live much. To be honest I don't go to these sorts of gigs often but made an exception based on how hard it is to see Polvo. They were great btw.
ok, not "unprecendented" then but you get the gist, and Modest Mouse had more £18 stature in the late nineties where as a full Polvo set is worth £18
I knew that MM diss would haunt me
why didn't you check the set times instead of assuming you could rock up and catch them?
I'm just interested, cos if I really wanna something I'll full well make sure I'm there for it.
It never crossed my mind because in 15 years of gig going this has never happened. And I only got a ticket on the day of the event anyway having missed the original tickets allocation etc etc I have a busy life ...
I emphasise I wasn't the only who had this misfortune. Just a bit of ATP customer feedback. When you go to the cinema, the time the program starts is clearly stated, why is it different for gigs? Especially gigs in which the last band wants to play for 2 hours.
Sorry, so un-British of me to complain/give feedback
And your ticket said "Doors 7pm" I assume? And ATP are very good at putting set times up in advance as they know people want to see all the bands. www.atpfestival.com 2 seconds. Not much time to take for something you care about. Hell, even a quick phone call to the venue
And you seem to think this is somehow ATP's fault when you just rocked up and expected something to fit around your view of how things occur? Many people made the same error and this somehow validates the mistake?
Feel free to give feedback, I just find it a bit much complaining about something that is YOUR fault.
It increases chances of customer satisfaction. My ticket was a tiny stub of paper simply saying "Admit One"
Unfortunately I did not get to see polvo. However, I did have the displeasure of seeing a band called exit calm. They were not good.
