now all i need to do is persuade mrs CCB that taking our daughter (who will be about 16 months) to a festival is a good idea!
Having last gone to Greenman in 2008 however I'm in no hurry to repeat the weekend of bog snorkelling we encountered.
we spent a lot of time sitting in the folkie dolkie tent listening to middleweight indie, optimistically trying to see a bit of lighter cloud in the distance.
We actually went back home for two nights and returned in the morning as we live within 30 mins drive of the site..
we made it easy-ish for ourselves by arriving on the friday morning and leaving after a rather disappointing iron and wine set on the sunday... in sunny weather i reckon it could be idyllic with a toddler in tow, but if it rains as much as it did last year then it would be absolutely impossible.
And I couldn't agree more that you could literally lose a toddler in the mud if it rains like 2008 (luckily, I was also in a position to flit back and forth to my house at will) but 2009 was a glorious sunny weekend and I saw plenty of little 'uns running around. Also, they've rejigged the layout of the festival to cut down on huge human congestion (and hence less mud - no mud, last year)
.. Really can't wait!
I was secretly relieved.
The weather was kind this year, and my faith was restored
But not usually until a month or so before the event.
Having said that, they've never put tickets on sale in December - normally about March or April. So, it's harder to predict.
... was in my eyes, the best festival i have been to in years or ever! The weather was glorious as was (far more importantly) everything about the festival. I've been every year since 2006 and it's great every year. I don't have kids but i couldn't imagine a better festival for family's to attend. the children's bit looked like so much fun with workshops that even i would have loved to partake in...
